I know a fellow that has a english pointer/walker cross. Hell of a nose and will get gone and stay on a track. His is pretty open on track.

SEEMS LIKE OVERKILL TO ME, EITHER CROSS A CUR UP WITH A HOUND OR A BIRD DOG, I WOULDNT TAKE THE CHANCE OF HAVING AN OPEN DOG.

If you did try a bird/hound mix i would try redbone or plott, something not so much on the open side compared to a walker, bluetick, black and tan.
