I have a gyp that i have raised since she was a day old. About 2 months ago i let her out with her 3 litter mates and i can not get her to come to me or anything now. She shows up about once a week and as soon as i pull in the driveway she heads for the woods. Granted this dog hasnt been beat on or anything just corrected when she needed it. What do yall suppose i do to get her?

How old is this female? Some dogs just don't want to be caught and some of the dogs that don't want to be caught aren't worth catching...

my dog was like that and still is at times what i did was buy a cheap shock collar from amazon that works up to 330 yards its about 30 dollars. so what i did was caught him and put collar on in my fenced backyard let him go and when he didnt want to come to me i lit him up. i think i only hit him twice and that was it any time i feel like he's getting cayote like ill put the collar on him. but i also use the tone pretty much if he hears that he will run stright to me. hope this helps.

Dallas, Is that dog a Jagdterrier? I did the same thing, they'll usually come to my voice call now.

myself I'd cull one like that .... now if she run around just not wanting to be caught I can break that ...but one that hits the woods and hides I can't feed ....

Had two litter mates before, both gyps. Raised from pups and wouldn't let me catch em for nothing. Tried this, that, and everything else. When I did get my hands on them they would piss themselves. Ended up culled. It was hard because I was just starting out and I wanted every dog I had to turn out. I've learned that a good dog is hard to come by. Hopefully you can figure her out.
