Had some old bear hunting buddies from Iowa and Ill. Come down and make a hunt. My regular hoghunting buddies were Bull Turner, Todd Carruth, and Charlie Gaines all met up at Charlies deer hunting camp.I There was not a lot of sign and it was a while before we got into any. Charlies dogs were running one and as we got closer we found a huge track. I put Hank and Clyde out and they trailed out and jumped him. Two of Charlies dogs pulled to this race and was not long we had a roaring bay going. We knew it was a good one cause Clyde and Gumbo were baying. Get to the edge of a nasty cutover and sent the bulldog. We crawled about 20 yards or so on hands and knees and Charlie grabbed the hog and I helped throw him which was no easy feat since we could not stand up. Got him tied and dragged him to a opening about 10 yards away. Kudos to Greg Michel who is in his mid 70's who crawled in with us.

That's a good boar hog... I sure hope I'm still able to do it when I'm Mr. Michel's age.

Nice hunt Mike. Bull and I go back to high school. Played football with him and his brother for a few years. He’s always been a great guy and tough SOB. Still text him a few times a month. Planning on getting him to bring those hounds a a place or two of mine within the next month... keep laying them over!

Swine stalker, Ole Bull missed out on this one. He was trying to catch up to one of his dogs when we got on this hog. We did call him to help us load him tho. lol He is a great guy & yes, he is a tough no quit kinda of guy. Mike, Tom Telford who is 81 I believe did have to stay at the bike, but him & Greg Michel are dog men of the old school & have ran hounds all their lives. They are a inspiration to me & I also hope I can keep going that long. They just love to listen to the hounds run.  We caught two 100# hogs the next morning & called it a day.

That's awesome... I'll be happy to ride around and listen to the bay at that age.
