It happens.
How many times was she bred? A bitch can be in standing heat for several days. It is often a good idea to breed once each day that she is willing to stand.

3 confirmed times. At 6 months old she was hit and it broke her femoral head and I had it removed and at at a little over a year old she was poked inside her stomach cavity. I hope it didn't do permanent damage. I was just curious. Thanks,JT
