I had the same experience with my mal, when allowed to hunt or broke bay situation he would not stay caught and die of a heat stroke but caught a bunch of hogs for me and never let go, and yes held clean as well. Ive got another one I need to start, I sold my last one to a pet owner after an injure ligament in his back leg
