Well, one of my long time dog buddies got to make it out here. He’s a hell of a man and a great friend. Edgar is 86 years young and Father Time is taking his toll on him. It’s been a few years since he’s made it out here but another friend that I met through Edgar was able to drive him out here for a couple days. We made two hunts and one real quick one the morning they checked out. We caught 10 the first two days and a sow and pigs the last little hunt. Edgar isn’t able to get through the woods but I was able to drive him to within 60 yards of one bay. We eased up to the edge of the creek bank and he got to watch a good bay in the dry creek bed and then see the catch. He was like a kid in a candy store. By that evening he said I think I’m gonna have to get me another hog dog, lol. He had to get rid of his dogs a few years ago because of his lack of mobility. We talk every week without fail. It’s a long way to Florida from here or I’d haul him every trip. It was good to see Scott as well. He’s a heck of a fella too. Edgar was more or less mentored Scott when he started out 40 years ago. He brought Edgar out here because he wanted to come as well, but mainly because he knew what it would mean to Edgar. That’s a pretty good friend if you ask me. We told old stories and shared news lies and enjoyed every second of it! I hope all y’all get to do the same with yours people because life is a peculiar thing. We can be here one minute and gone the next.

Nothing like getting friends together and hunting. I bet Edgar knows a good friend of mine from Blountstown. Perez Bellis. Perez and I have shared hunts together for 40 years.
