Got invited to go a place I’ve been countless times I can’t recall ever catching a hog at. I know we’ve ran deer there. My bud will get pics of hogs at the feeder and the next day or so we would run over and we could never scratch nothing up. Graveyard has my schedule crazy and I was up at the 3am doing chores and drinking coffee waiting to go hunting. It finally got loading time and got Bobby his sister flash, buck and a gyp I’m hunting for a friend that was born here. I thought we had agreed at a time but the kid never showed up even after I got him on the phone at six. I got tired of waiting where his dogs were at 7 something and found the spot on onX hunt. And went to the gate just so I could tie my dogs out and get them out of the kennels and get situated. Still ain’t heard nothing and he calls at 7:40 talking about being on his way his phone had died. I tell him the dogs are getting too antsy trying to fight and what not, I got 4 dogs on two leashes. My cd was just running around happy as a lark lol, but still not a ideal situation. I go ahead and ask him if I can kick them out and he said yeah he’d be there in a minute. Well in one cast they went 900 I started easing to them before they got all the way out. Judging by the garmin buck and Bobby hit a cattle pasture and winded them. There sometimes calf’s out there so I was half ass trying to tone them back and hooting at them. But they just did a loop before they got back into the woods. I started getting bark indicators and could hear some baying. Buck is pretty rough so I figured it was already caught. Sure enough I could hear squeeling got about a hundred away and sent my cd. I start jogging that away and almost run into this boar my dogs Bobby and flash are baying. They aren’t giving it no pressure but keeping the bay going. I watch my back and go around to the caught 80 pounder get it killed then resent joker toward the other bay. Thankfully buck and the gyp stayed out because that was the last thing I needed was some rough dogs on this one. The bay broke when joker got there and he ran it down 200 later it bayed and got caught. I had my spear today instead of my old timer. That guy walked up about five minutes later and I was still catching my breath. He poked and cut every dog but buck and flash. Gave joker a good kiss on the cheek and I guess had worked over that gyp while she was caught but she stayed game.

That yellow gyp that stayed game hopefully recovers. She ended up getting the short end of the stick.
