Finally over and time to get after hogs! Nothing big, ended up with one decent sow. Ended up with 6 for a quick Monday afternoon hunt. Dogs did good and they are as glad as I am to get back after them. The Young Plott is really getting his feet under him and caught one of the smaller sows out solo tonight. No one better let him know he is a hound, because he is casting, relays and show good stock sense like a good cur dog! Lol Not a lot of dog pics today but a few of the pigs caught. Thanks for looking Lynel

In my limited experience I feel it’s better to catch those younger hogs and sows, the odds of the dogs not getting a bad injury goes way down. Not gonna lie tho, I’m pretty sure everybody likes getting those big toothy boars tho, myself included.

Lynel that plott sounds nice. How is he built? Doesn’t sound like the dogs forgot where they left off.

Sounds like a great hunt in the afternoon. I know it is getting pretty warm down there. You might just going to catch the Plott fever. It's pretty bad and hard to get over it.

Lynel he’s trying to bait you. Just breed that ole plott dog to good border collie. I guarantee you it might or might not work.

Not trying to highjack the thread, but do your plotts exhibit much stock sense Cajun? I’ve wondered about that being that they were originally more cur’ish in type, or at least that’s the way I understood it.

T dog about thirty years ago I sold some Plotts to Mike Williams, He ran a lot of cattle up in the mountains of California. He just about floored me when he told me he worked those Plotts on cows. Now I am sure not all of them would do it but he liked working Plotts on cows when he wasn't bear or lion hunting. I have had to break a few young Plotts off of cows because we hunt too many places where their are cows. Can you imagine a Dairy farmer coming up on his cows in a pond bayed by a couple of Plotts. Well that happened but luckily everything worked out.

He’s a pretty dude Lynel. I’ve always been a sucker for ear and a bawl mouth. I can’t hardly hunt a short eared dog. I just don’t like looking at them.
Cajun I bet you were a little worried about how that was going to turn out. We are the same way here. Dogs that will bay cattle are a liability. I’m sure your dogs work cattle in California made you proud. It always makes me smile when someone takes one of mine and uses them in some other discipline and they did well.
