We are patiently waiting for some Marsh Hunt stories and pictures, that's an annual event.

We have been fighting record low tides all week. Several cold fronts in a row with low tide has created havoc for local fishing and getting around the marsh. Word was also out that Wildlife and Fisheries flew  helicopter shooters over Marsh killing 150 head of hogs. I just dont understand their reasoning when they could give the hunters a extra month in March and we the taxpayers would not have to pay for this. There is also the waste as they shoot them and let them go to waste.  We have been hunting higher ground mostly and catching a couple a day and getting some dogs banged up but having a good time..I'll post pics. when I get a chance.

Cajun we went with a buddy the other day to one of his spots. The hogs there get hunted in every possible way I know of, dogs, thermals, traps, stand hunters, and helicopters. You talk about hard to catch. If you drive within 600 yards of them, they leave. He said he has his best luck there when the wind is blowing about 40 mph because they can’t hear him coming as well. We don’t have helicopter hunters right here but 20 minutes down the road in the farm land they do. It makes an impact but don’t think the hogs don’t get wise about how to avoid the helicopters too.

I'd never considered the tides being exceptionally low having an effect. Politically speaking they don't give hunters much consideration other than deer tag sales.

Glad you'all are getting to have some good hunts anyway.
