Today T setup a last hunt of the year for me. We caught a decent boar pretty quick and then got into sows and pigs. Caught 10 I think. We butchered 3, 2 for me to take home and one rotisserie sized pig for T's neighbor. We had some dogs show out real well today. And to top it off we got to roll through the McDonald's drive through with a load of hogs.

It was a good time and a good group of guys. It’s sure nice having young guys like Jay, Hunter, and Trey to help with the heavy lifting. They are fun to bs with too and y’all know WOW is always joking around and talking smack so they fit right in.

That's a nice load of hogs for your last hunt. Safe travels back.

WOW is taking those sows back home with him in an ice chest and my neighbor has been after me for a shoat that he can put on a rotisserie. I finally got him one that wasn’t half eaten by the time we got to it. Those smaller ones are hard to save most times.

We didn’t put up great numbers this year, about 30 I think. I know in other places people don’t have our numbers so they can’t put up huge numbers. In years past we would’ve done this good in a couple of hunts. Evolution though is a factor. Properties have changed hands, hogs are pressured harder, etc. so it all has an impact. We did catch some good hogs though and every hunt was a good time. I’m extremely blessed to have a really good hunting circle. At the end of the day it’s a great day if the dogs did well and you got to be with good friends to enjoy it.

I check this site every day for over a decade now I believe. Though I no longer hunt with dogs it still was one of my biggest passions in life and those times made me the person I became and I believe helped me raise my children, now adults, into the great youngsters they are.

I too look forward to WOW’s trip every year.

And the rest of you kicking off the hunting stories.

I don’t  comment much because I simply have little input. But rest assured I read and enjoy!

Semmes, bud we’ve visited a good bit and I can tell you, you have a wealth of knowledge, especially when it comes to bulldogs. You shouldn’t be reluctant to share. Everyone will not agree with everything any of us have to say, but at the very least it gives us all something to chew on.

This was an extremely good years hunting for me. I left last year with a ton of doubts about whether I could do it again but I am beat up, tired but I still believe that I am going to come back because I don't get to experience the commaraderie, the ability to see a young dog start to crank it up and the bonus family I have in Texas. Semmes, most of the year I don't post too much because I don't have a bunch to ad but I do appreciate each and every one of you that add to this board. I left Rockdale this morning about 8 and I pushed the truck and camper pretty good and I will sleep in Mesilla NM. tonight and Casa Grande Az tomorrow and Vegas Friday night.
