Mike the knife and I tagged team making a Billot of feather Damascus. This is the knife I made out of it with enough left over to make a couple more. 9" blade with about a 5" handle.

Wow, that is beautiful Cajun. Nothing I would change about that rascal looking from here. It’s the right size and style and the craftsmanship looks great. You should be proud of that!

Amazing craftsmanship Cajun, if you don’t mind me asking, about how many man hours are involved in making that knife from start to finish?

That is the prettiest blade I've ever seen, never even heard of a feather Damascus. Did the colors come naturally, or are they enhanced? I wouldn't even want one of those other than to display.

Thanks Guys. WOW that is as good a compliment as I could get. Mike the Knife is a amazing mentor and everything I have learned, I learned it from him.
Hollowpoint, It took about 3 maybe 4 hours just to make the billet and I probably have about 12 hours in the knife itself.
Clue that is from etching it in Ferric Chloride. When you forge 1095, 1084 and 15N20 steel together you get different patterns and there are different ways of doing it to get those patterns. The a5N20 steel has a high Nichol content and that is the lighter colored steel with the 1084 and 1095 is darker. When you etch it in the Ferric Chloride that brings out the pattern. I am going to make a forged in fingerguard knife out of what is left.

You’re gonna have to take Mike the Knife on a hog hunt for helping you with that one, lol.

I think the only thing that makes WOW smile bigger than when he first gives his knives someone is when he sees them
being used.
