I just got a reg. pit bull female today, w/papers for free, and was looking on the internet to see if i could find any pics. of any dogs on the papers. just about every dog in these papers is blue and white. i got to looking and every pic i looked at was those stumpy legged bull dogs that i wouldn't give .02 for and these fellers are asking $1500 just for a stud fee Shocked I havn't had a catch dog in a while, especialy a regesterd one so i jumped at the offer.
Question: is there any u.k.c registered apbt breed out there that has some leggs to them? as i would like to breed her back to a reg. male, but i sure don't want no stumpy legged dog.  if not i will breed her to a BMC or a cat. the pits that i had before came out of florida and were med to large big boned and heads, but could run too.

 Any input?

You should be able to find a more traditional U.K.C. reg. APBT w/ leggs and size w/o the stumpy short hippo types, you will just have to do some looking.

I don't think just because. U breed her to a leggy dog u will get leggy pups some will be some won't be don't get a "mixture" get some one way some another when u breed a cat and a pit u get some that throw to the pit side some to the cat side.  Looks wise anyways JMO

those kemmer dogs are definantly good old school lines. very game dogs, but they aren't known for being real leggy though. more avg built type dogs. and you are going to pay a pretty penny for a pup or for a stud fee. those kemmer dogs are hard to come by

The leggiest line of pits I remember is the Sorrell line. They are harder to find since the blue dog fetish has taken over. All original game dogs are hard to find. Look for lines of dogs by Bert Sorrell. I found this website, I didn't look to see what the dogs are selling for though. http://www.ampitbull.com/stud.htm

Thanks for the info. those are definitly the kind of pits i am looking for, but the are very expensive. $800 ea. for pups and/or stud fee. I think if i was going to spend that kind of money i would probably go with a Dogo.  i have a real nice female down in Al. going to breed as soon as she comes back in.

Just curious why would you be willing to spend that kind of money on a dogo and not a pitt bull or even a ab?

I just like the dogos, I have never personally owned or hunted with the AB, so i don't know enough about them to spend that kind of money on one. i can get a pit bull anytime for alot less money, w/out papers of course. Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that any one dog is better or worth more than the other, just that if i had that kind of money to spend, i would get a dogo because they are harder to come by, especialy around these parts, and have the size that i like. It's just hard for me to imagine payin $800 for any breed of dog at 6-8 weeks old.  Shocked. On the other hand if i had it to spend i wouldn't think twice about it, if it was what i liked and had the genetics that were desirable to me, it wouldn't matter if it was a pit, dogo, or AB, as long as it could catch hogs. Nowdays with this Hip-hop Rappers and Rapper wanna be's have turn the traditional Pitbull 30-60lbs into 80-150lbs blue curs. Those big blue pitbulls are closer to mastiff's then they are pitbulls. Kennels like Muglestons Pitbull Farms sells dogs in upwards $8000.00. Their all UKC dogs. Your better off buying ADBA pitbulls with old school lines because some big blues register with ADBA=(. Sorry if I offened anyone that has a big blue. I love all dog but I don't like people calling these 100lbs+ "real pitbulls".

I see what your saying but I dont really understand why people will overpay for a dogo because they are not as easy to come by when you can get a good pit or ab for a fraction of the cost. But it is their money so they can spend it how they like. Grin
