Hi guys,
Great board here. Im a member of another texas forum, and have recognized some names already.  Anyway Im from South florida born and raised, been hunting for as long as i can remember, only have 3 years experience running dogs, and have owned hog dogs for about a year. Long story short, i've got a lot to learn, and i think these forums are the second best place to do that. And I enjoy talking to people who enjoy the sport as much as i do.

I am also hoping to find some other florida guys here since we must not have enough florida guys on the interweb to have a forum for florida.

Im also looking for a florida cur puppy

anyway just wanted to introduce myself.

Hey welcome to the board, always glad to see another Fla boy on here...... Grin  I am in central Fla, Sumter County. I have had a few invites to hunt those south Fla cane fields but I have never been that desperate for a place to hunt!! At least not yet...that sure looks like rough hunting. And I thought the 10' high palmettos and Ti Ti thickets up here were bad..........

yeah i don't like it. unless they are cutting, or its young. the cane starts to lay over when it gets big, and thats when they are living in there. its crazy after you walk through it, to hear a hog hauling ass through it with loud cracks, breaking the cane.  I always get nervous thinking about the dogs getting pinned in there like they were up against a wall.

I have a buddy that lives in N. Ft Myers and he hunts the cane somewhere down that way and I hear stories about it... and they are not GOOD stories.....LOL  Makes me really think twice about hunting the cane fields........He and his dogs get cut all up from the cane everytime he goes. They catch some good hogs but its rough.

It's hard huntin in the cane fields but it makes a good time. Its hard to get the dogs to get in there unless they wind somethin.
No trees to climb either, but i would rather hunt that then those big palmettos.
