I believe the brindle dogs because they tend to blend in more with the surronding.  Kinda like camo.  We all know hogs have poor eye sight.  Now if the dog is not real fast, the hog might see him at all.

The white dogs stick out like a sore thumb.  They espically stick out at night.  At night the black dogs are truely the best.  The white dogs would be really good in the snow.

What do you guys think?  I am thinking about get a new CD pup and don't want to make th wrong choice.

Does anyone make a suit that I can put on to change the dogs color in different areas or time of the year.  White if it is snowing, green in the spring, black at night or brindle in the fall.  I might work on these if there is none out there.

Had a hunter swear off white dogs because they get cut too much.  Says the hogs can see them too easy.  You couldn't give him one.

Well I have a light reddish orange pit, a white and tan (mostly white) AB, and fixing to get an all white pit/dogo.

I prefer the ones that glow in the dark.  They're much easier to find. Grin

once you put a bright orange vest on them it doesn't matter.  I really don't think it matters.  I think if the hog sees them at all, it's just another dog until it's too late.

You think I can train a catch dog to stalk a hog like a tiger.  If I only hunt with one bay dog, the hog will never see the CD coming if he is blended in or wearing the right camo suit.  I can have different cut vest for the time of the year as well.

I have us covered at night with my black pit. Mike has the camo dog for daylight, but I will have to inform chris that he needs to hold tyson back for when we hunt in the snow

i'm still waiting on someone to breed the stealth bulldog.  just the right angles where a hog cant detect em..... somebody should get to work on that.

i've been line breeding a line of catch dogs for the last 90 years. I am about to make my first outcross, to a chameleon. Not sure what the phenotype will be on the F1's, but you can bet they will be the best thing since sliced bread

might throw some of that sasquatch blood in there too.....then you'd get the right amount of size and stealth.  mix that with the ever changing camo fur from the chameleon blood and that'd pretty much be money in the bank right there.

definately scrap the digital camo idea.  I wear that crap every day. The only thing i've ever seen it blend in with is a couch.  I'm drafting an email right now to uglydog ranch with a suggestion for a ghillie suit vest.

Color changing stealth tiger stalking ninja line..... guys, you missed the boat. That line has been around for years, and I just happen to be the resident expert.

This post was a NSS (Not So Serious)

But I do have a friend that believes that the white dogs get hit more often and will not take one.

While joking about this post with a board member, they have noticed on a couple occassion that when sending in a white dog and another color, it appears that the white dog took more of the beating.  I believe this is at night.  Now this is not 50 years of experience or 5 generations of breeding.  Just a small observation by a member.

Maybe there is something to it.

Hmm, but I would take a pink catchdog if was good.

How many days until deer season is over.

but yeah.........i think we've got like 15 or so days til season is over.
