It's due to lack of education. This is one of the main reasons I joined and remain a member of TDHA, to help spread the education of working dogs.

in my experience that forum isn't the greatest. there are a lot of really ignorant people there. i was almost banned because i disagreed with a moderators friend. i wasn't disrespectful nor did i post vulgar words i stated my stance and backed it up and was told if don't stop causing problems i would be banned...i thought about posting over there but i choose to just let it be. those over there that are shooting dogs, well, they are just ignorant. they aren't even trying to listen to anyone or hear what the law states. furthermore there responses were "take care of it and dispose of the body somewhere else no one will know." that just exudes good hunting practices. i bet these are the same people that leave bags of corn on property, rut up property, and do all the things that us immoral and horrible hog DON'T DO  |

It seems to me that at least half of the people who posted were on the dogs side. Pretty ignorant, if they are good hog dogs they will chase the hogs and leave the deer alone.

Any of you on here ever hear the old stories about the dog killings in Sour Lake or the feud that has been going on in between Jasper and Brooklyn between 2 families that has been going on since the 50s over the killing of a deer hound ?Real Hatfield and MCcoy stuff.How many of you have had dogs killed? I have had a few killed by cowards.

Guys people that have that kind of mentality is why we need to stick together as a whole being dog hunters, regardless of what breed of dogs we run. Also, the more of us that join the TDHA the more we will be able to help educate and fight for our rights as dog hunters. Always remember that there are more and more people against us everytime we turn around. Lets all do our part to help our sport out and keep the traditions alive.

I just really hope people document these events thoroughly and pursue criminal charges and civil suits. That is the number one way we'll stop idiots, by making an example out of the ignorant people who shoot dogs. A lot of us will preach until the cows come home about the legalities of shooting dogs, and I do think it has an effect, but we still need solid ammo that convictions and settlements provide. And trust me, if my dog ever gets shot for doing her job, I will unleash a swarm of legal spider monkeys so intense they will wish they'd kept that bullet for themselves.

Be glad you couldnt read it you are better off,I have never in my my life seen such BS on a site.I am sorry folks but I realize the right thing to do if your dog is killed is to go through the legal system,I have always taken these matters into my own hands and always will.Too much red tape for me ,VENGENCE IS MINE SAYS BULLMASTER.
