Nice hunt guys... Mike how's the Garmin, welcome to the 21st century.... I got mine in this week as well... I almost had to swim Cedar Bayou, but they brought him back to me. Good thing the Bayou was ripping, or I might have had to swim.... They made their way back to me, the CD and the new Catahoula happened to be 40yds away from bayou crossing (thanks Garmin, although I lost them about 4 times). I still have the radio system, thanks to Chris...

We had a 3.4 mile chase. He lost in the end...

Good hogs, good hunt and good friends...sounds like a great day! It rained here most of the day, cooling off now so I "hope" to be in the woods in the morning trying to find another blind crippled hog my potlickers can stumble over..... Grin

Hope you have a great New Year Mike! At least you are off to a good start.

Whats the catch dog? With a glass eye I assume he has leopard in him, but mixed with?? He doesn't look like a pit.

Thanks everyone.

No Chance, but I got trashy ol' black catahoula that made a purdy good showing today.  Grin

Bennie, works good, but Quick Track will still be around every dog's neck when they hit the ground... especially when dogs go from yards to miles. Wink

Mark, that's my old Clifford dog... he just turned seven. Wish I could go back about six years, when I bought him from Craig, and re-live them again. Caught a bunch of hogs for me over the years and gonna be a tough one to lose. He's 1/2 catahoula 1/2 American Bulldog... just shy of 100 lbs.

I like his build but didn't realize he was that big of a dog. I bet when he catches, he can anchor one.

If we were closer I may would want to breed my JJ female to him, just for some catchdog pups. I have never owned, fed or led a straight catchdog...but at times I wish I did have one.

Some of my Fla curs are just about lead in catchdogs. If you turn JJ to a bay she is 100% catch. So if I bred her to a sure enough catchdog, I would pretty much bet the pups would all catch. One of the best catch dogs I ever hunted with was 1/2 Fla cur and 1/2 pitt. Very accurate and quick enough to run a   hog down if it broke before he got there.

Thanks Craig, there was a few pokes here and there... but nothing serious.

Mark, some of the best catch dogs I can remember hunting behing were various cur/bulldog type crosses. Sure would like to get him crossed over the right AB for a 3/4 cross.

Great hunt!  I sure do enjoy seeing pictures of Clifford, he's a fine looking dog.   Had no idea he came from Craig, what's his family story?
