THomas and I took several of our dogs out for a hunt at the Farm.
getting ready to go-

first hog was struck not 5 minutes from cutting the dogs loose, talk about turning out in the right place!

Then Lady rolled off as soon as Thomas legged this hog and started another, we did not get that one stopped and the other dogs went off and hit another trail when we were going towards her. It took us along time to navigate around and towards Roo & Rollee, thirty minutes of them showing treed we get as far as we can go with our Rhino and stop to listen. We see a beautiful red & black boar trotting on the other side of a slew. Lady was coming back in after a big loop and gets on that boar while our other dogs are still bayed. She caught it for a minute so I sent a catch dog to her for help since she was alone. He got away from her before the catch dog got to her, so we went after them. After finding away to cross the creek and winding our way around about 600 yds they were showing treed, but we could not hear them. We find them across the river on the opposite bank caught on a totally different boar then the one we started on practily right in front of our eyes. Thomas swam over and stuck this healthy guy and got the dogs back across the swollen river.

By the time we got back to the Rhino, and a dry shirt for Thomas, Rollee & Roo were coming back into us.
We regrouped for a few minutes, and the dogs rolled out and a few minutes later, had another bay going until Lady got there and then they all piled on and we could hear them fighting, so we sent out catch dogs to this one

Never did see that pretty boar again and it was time to get out of the cold and some dry britches for Thomas.

Congrats to the celebrities as well...Got this months Bayed Solid in the mail yesterday and I see both you and Thomas (and Mr. Mason) made the pics this month!

Matt,

Maybe they thought you had retired.... Grin  BTW, not sure if I mentioned it last night, but you are welcome to come out tonight... I don't usually think to invite, because I just assume that you know you are welcome anytime I am hitting the woods.

Chris, you and I both know that I am not able to do the same things that I could 18 months ago, but I am getting closer and with these cooler temps I can move around a little better than I could in the past, I would watch out next time there is a bay because there may be a skin flint come flying past you  Grin  I was mainly writing that to give Krystal a hard time because it is fun to do that from time to time  Wink

I appreciate the invite tonight but it is not necessary, I know we have a standing invite between us but these days I take my Sat/Sun hunts, enjoy them, and wait for the next weekend or a hunt close to home.  I know that makes me less of a hunter and "retired" and all that good stuff but I am good with it....Grin

I'm starting to wonder why it's always Thomas that has to do the swimming and she's the one dry, on the bank, with the camera? Grin

Slim,
You're just now starting to wonder about that?  I've noticed a pattern over the years. Cheesy Something else I have noticed, if something goes wrong on the hunt, one of two things caused it.  Either Thomas screwed up, or Thomas' dogs screwed up Wink  Unless of course Coy's dog "Beauty" is there, then pretty much all fingers are pointed at her. Thanks Everyone.

Matt, I sure should have called you! I forgot all about you swimming abilities, I think I will put your number in my speed dial, Do you own a wet suit?  Grin

Chris, I knew you were pretty smart to notice those things, I on the other hand am the smartest, I stay were I can touch the bottom, and prefer to stay on dry land, thats why I carry the electronics on me!

Cward, He better be glad he was not completely naked, cause I had both cameras!

Thomas even brought his gun in case the dogs did swim the dang river, but unfortunately the Comet the catch dog made it across on this one which foiled the plan, thats okay Thomas needed a good bath anyway. The water ws really cold and you see it in Thomas eyes soon as he got waste deep Cheesy
Thomas is a good sport, he would have kept hunting awhile longer, but we did have some dogs that were out of commision after the 3rd boar. Rollee my Jagd, is at the vet in surgery having his eye removed, and Lady ended up with 12 punctres from her jaw to tail. Hopefully my little guy can home in the morning, and have to learn to get around with one eye.
