There ain't no way of knowing without DNA testing all the guessing in the world ain't gonna help. Just cause he is black don't mean he has lab in him.

2-3 of my last two litters that were bred down several generations came out black with that same white marking up their nose, they don't have any lab in them but they do have a quarter pointer.
I yell you that pup could be easily mistaken for one of my Jokers pups, build, frame, legs, hip and markings.

Did you check the roof of his mouth to see if he has black on it? also check for webbing between his toes, most labs have the webbing.  the bark can help identify breeds also, different breeds bark different.  but even using clues like this its still just going to be a guess. good luck, I'd try him and see, might be great....
