Now this is a good subject to debate! BoarNinja where are you? What breed craps the best, just kidding, I could not resist this one.

Seriously, some dogs do it because they get so excited and can't control themselves do to the excitement. I have one like that, after a couple of years I finally figured out how to cure him. The first thing I do before getting ready to hunt is get him off the chain, put on his cut collar, and tie him to a tree close to the truck. Then I load all my other dogs that don't have a problem, get all my gear together. By this time this dog will have crapped on the ground and I can load him to go hunting.

I was told along time ago if you put a dog in a shorter box where he can't hunker over and crap they won't do it, but I disproved that one, it may work for some guys, not in this case.

I had a beagle once that you could take out of the kennel 23 hrs before a hunt and the minute he got in the box he would drop a bomb and have it all over every dog in the box.He was a great rabbit dog but he had to go.I also had a beagle that would only crap in the water bucket.Wish I knew a way to help you but I am clueless on what to do about that.

I had a rig dog one time that you could get out of the box walk a mile in both directions and the minute you snapped him to the rig, guess what? my buddy uses the old fashioned correction method, but not real sure if it ever worked Undecided. im not really sure if you can break them. some do and some dont.
I usually keep plenty of hay or saw dust/chips in my box, that its not that big of a deal.

Most of the dogs iv hunted with have done this when ever they smellor we drive through an area with hogs in it but think about this way would u rather have a dog do that while ur walking in with the cd still onthe lead and there's a big mean ulgy son of a gun In the brush with a taste for blood or in the truck bed that u can clean in 5 mins with a hose

I feed my dogs 16 hours before taking them on a hunt and don't have any problems but if I end up on an unexpected run I always end up washing out the bed of the truck. How close to hunt time are you feeding your dogs??

I had  red tick I had this problem with for a while. I would turn dogs loose for a few minutes before I would load up for this purpose. She never would go. But be in the moving truck for 5 minutes and she would go.
I lived way out in the sticks on a dirt road. So I started loading every one but her, I would then ease on down the road, like I was roading. About five minutes of this, she would go. Then and only then would I load her.

I've never had a problem with it until I got this new dog. He is a half hound and is a horrible mannered dog. As soon as you load him up he pisses everywhere and if were headed to hunt somewhere a good ways away he will drop a deuce. I usually feed the dogs everynight when I get home from hunting or around 6 o clock every afternoon so they're eating a while before we hunt. I took him out to a place to hunt last night probably 10 miles away and pulled through the gate and set him up on the dog box to rig. As soon as I set him up on top he crapped everywhere. I've never seen another dog that'd do this

Ive had this problem with puppies alot all i do is leave them in the box with an older dog for a while even after they have crapped in it, dont know why but it has worked for me.  usually it only takes a few times.

One thing you might try is to put him in one of the smallest portakennels you can find, most dogs dont like laying in thier own crap.If that doesnt work I dont know what will.

Crapping in the box aggravates me worse than a trail barking cur!!! lol

I guess I have been lucky. I took the advice from an old timer a long time ago and it has worked for me. Just let them ride in it and if they get it all over them good! Its no different than house breaking. You have to catch them when they do it to correct them though.

Had a buddy that could never catch one of his dogs in the act and he was real bad about it. He started hauling him in a wire panel box by himself with a hot collar on him so he could see him in the rear view mirror. It only took lighting him up a few times in "mid loaf"!!! No more issues with that dog and he was the worst I ever saw. Wont even begin to tell you the nick names we had for that poor rascal. lol

Lets just say he answered best to $hitty. The only other names suitable to post where ole Cess (short for Cesspool), Big Stank, ole gag, Mud pump, and "Splatterhound the wonder dog" are a few I recall.
Part of the fun hunting with that dog was comming up with a new nick name for him every hunt just to aggravate his owner! lol Evil

The best part "was" Ole gag's owner. He was completely anal about keeping a spotless truck. Everywhere this guy made a stop he would get out and walk around his truck inspecting it. He still does it to this day!
We call him Felix after the "anally clean" guy from the TV show The Odd Couple.
The start of every single hunt he would cuss Ole Mud pump till he was blue in the face and threaten to "hard cull" the poor rascal. The new names nick names just made it worse and thats why we did it!

Probably why he went through so much trouble breaking "Splatterhound the wonder dog" from his mid trip "calls of nature". lol.

Poor dog. Even after he was broke from it we still kept coming up with new names for him. He just never lived it down.

;DBoar thats was hilarious! That was the reason I asked because I know if it had been one of my buddies dogs we would have given him the blues about it.The dude being so anal is what really makes the story good.I also like the names, very original.
