I knew that would get your attention. I have a male catahoula whos nipples seem to be getting bigger round and longer. They are getting pretty ugly but I am more concerned because they get tore up each time I hunt him. I am sure they are full of nerves and veins, but has anyone had to remove a dogs nipple. Quint   |

I have been raising dogs a long time and have never seen or heard of that problem.I have a friend that works for a vet and will give her a call if you dont get any feedback on this.

i have had a few that has had the same problem i just cut them off with a razor blade they never came back and never had any problems

wow, I would supect some type of hormone problem, and I would go to the vet with that question.

what and how are you feeding your dog , do you workthe feed lots, hormone supplemnts,antibiotics...

Unfortunately I have seen that once before in a lab many years ago. Not the same color, but size and shape were identical. You need to get your dog to a vet.

Does he have both testicles? Elongated nipples in males can be a symptom of testicular tumors, mostly they will be benign but they do lead to increased estrogen and female behavior. Maybe nothing but get him to the vet

Tie some dental floss around them to cut circulation off to them and they will fall off with some time.

I had the same problem with an old plott dog. I cut it off with a razor and he dripped blood forever. It took forever to stop

T-Bob, I didn't want to go there, but that is what the problem was w/ mine. And in his case it was the big "C" word. I have my fingers crossed on this one so let us know what the vet says!

get estimate from the vet and then do then tie with floss or fishing line till they fall off.
People do that for tails, its gotta work for nipples
I would not cut with a razor.

Thanks yall. Im making an appnt. at the vet. Gotta make sure it aint the "C" word.
Dexter, I feed Sportmix black and some scraps with the occasional fresh dead hog.
T-Bob- he is still packing around his junk.
