the b complex at the feed stores etc are synthetic isolated components of the whole b complex and are crap to be fank. with that said they will work for a season as far as energy goes but not good long term.
electrolytes are great i give them to my dogs durring summer or on back to back hunts, helps heat stroke none the less.
If you have the money to get your dogs a good whey protein go for it ... to rich for my blood, They get a raw egg with the shell crunched up, some sea salt (adrenal support), and a tbsp of olive oil (great essential fatty acid for everything) when I catch the mood.
hope this helps

true b 12 works good and electrolyes work good on energy but you also need to be careful cause on the same note b 12 can boost their metabolism "hints the energy level" and cause them to drop weight they are using b 12 for people on diets i just give mine red cell and dyne helps alot in my opinion

You mentioned stuff like "muscle-up". Products like these such as creatine powders, whey proteins, carbofuel, etc. generally anything that you would buy at a GNC store is not good for a dog, and can actually cause more harm than good, in that it can cause them to "run hot". Dogs are CARNIVORES. Their digestive systems are still identical to that of a wolf, coyote, fox or african wild dog. The "muscle" powders are created for humans. Dogs have sharp, long, K-9 teeth (top & bottom). This is nature telling us dog owners that the dog is designed to thrive on RAW MEAT. A good dog in his prime that is fed a good quality dog food, wormed regularly and has fresh water shouldn't need any type of "boost" before a hunt. However, if you have an older dog that may need a boost, supplement them with RAW MEAT. But giving it a couple days before a hunt isn't going to do anything. Also, raw beef knucklebones from the packing house are excellent (2 per week). As for B-12, the best way is just to get a bottle of B-12 injectable, but it needs to be given several days before a hunt, and all it really does is increase PCV (packed cell volumn) red blood cell count and appetite. If you have a old dog, I would carry it to the vet and tell the vet your situation and ask if he can give the dog a shot of Equipoise, however it will take about 10 days for it to really get working in the dog's system.

I use Muscle up for my dogs pretty frequently. It is made for dogs and they have a formulation for horses too. it does wonders for recovery time on my older dog.

redriverslim makes some excellent points. I slightly disagree with a dog eating healthy dog food in his prime is enough simply because most of us are not feeding them good dog food 95% of affordable dog food is crap. Beefknuckle bones and raw meet/organs---RIGHT ON! GNC is crap and bad for humans or dogs! raw carcus' an egg and some olive oil is all i personally do, with the occational electrolytes durring summer. I also like muscle up for an older dog and red cell is good.

Sardines in soy oil, egg every now and then, and one teaspoon of Redcell! Don't know about anything else posted here, never used it!
