The Texas Dog Hunters Association is proud to announce its annual scholarship in the amount of $1500.
This will be awarded in the first two semesters upon receipt of the award. Each semester the student will receive a check of $750 upon TDHA receiving receipt of enrollment. In order to receive the second installment the student must also provide proof of grades from the previous semester, in which a minimum of a 2.0 GPA must earned, along with enrollment verification.
Eligibility
1) High School senior to be enrolled full-time (12 hours minimum) in a Texas institution of higher learning.
2) Student or Family Member (Parent, Guardian, or Grandparent) is a member of TDHA and has been a member in good standing for at least a year prior to the application deadline.
3) Student or Family member has been active in a TDHA event in the past year. (More attention will be given to those students who have participated themselves)
All forms will be available on the webiste soon. We will also have a deadline date on this soon. So everyone keep there eyes and ears open. Get those applications in for those youngsters. If you have any questions please go to the TDHA website for more information.

Here's a questions I have about things like this.....where can I find out who picks the winner of the scholarship and is this a competely objective process? It sure seems like an easy way for someone with an "in" to come in and pick up an easy scholaship for their kid if they know a couple of the right people.
Please tell me the names of the particpants are kept anonymous and there is some kind of objective point system developed so the submitted particpant that accues the most point wins. Anything less is borderline fraudulent.

I am the committee head for the TDHA scholarship. All entires will come to me. At that point I will make copies of all paperwork removing any names. I will then send the filles to the pannel which will consist of 1 BOD, 1 Officer, 1 TDHA Advisor, 1 member and 1 non-member. They will rank the files from 1-x. When I get them back I will complile the scores. If there is a tie I will re-issue just those for re-evaluation. I have picked very objective, honest and upstanding people to be on the pannel and none of them will know who the application is from (Even though I know it would not matter to them, I knew we would have some question this).
As I said, I am the chairperson and if it is my integrety that is being questioned then ask around. There is no "in" for this. No kid will be given the scholarship, they will have to earn it. I am not here to just give TDHA's money away, I want it to be put to use.
Quite frankly I am very offended with the fraudulent aqcusations that have been made when you do not even know the process. You should ask before you assume. We all know what happens when you assume.

Perhaps I read the wrong post, but it seems to me that Cull Buck WAS asking ABOUT the process so that he WOULD know. I didn't see any mention of anything that would lead me to believe accusations were being made. |

Why not just ask the procedure then....you dont have to say something could be fradulent or say that this looks like an easy scholarship for someone with an "in".
