Went on a little hunt with my brother-n-law this eve. roaded the dogs down the a feed road and they winded one all three ( Bear, lana, & little richard) bailed off into the timber with bear leding and we heard the other two bayed, got there and bear had already tore one of the sows ears off and was caught on the other. Scott my brother-n-law legged her while i stuck here, He told the dogs to get out and they were off again we followed after loading the sow and withing 20 mins they had bayed a boar in a creek, I waded in cause bear was caught and really wanted to get this one before bear tore either one of it's ears off but I was to late ( he is kinda famous around here for that ) the hog tried to cut him but when he catches he lays right up beside a hog and kinda pulls them off balance. He got a little cut on the neck and chest as he went for the catch thou but it looks worse in the pic than it really is. I stuck the hog but it was way tough rough to try and drag him out so we headed him. total time out little less than an hour. the sow would have gone abot 150 + maybe a little more and the boar 200+. If you look close in the pic you can see the missing ears, no need for a bull dog when ol bear is with ya

Craig, Scott say's he will if it's big hog most of the time, he has been banged up a bunch but when you get there on a big hog scott will tell him to " get a holt " and he will catch anyway but he does wait for you then, he tells me if the hog breaks and he tries to stop it and gets a good catch he will stay caught if he can no matter how big but just depends you know. He doesn't run collars or vest so bear has plenty of scars but the ol dog ( he is 6 ) has been on hundreds of hogs so I think he knows what he can handle and what he can't. We were trying to get into some small pigs for the pups I got from ya but these guys were what we found so we are gonna get after them again soon and try to bring home a few little ones to train with. I was worried about sticking a hog with out a bull dog but it all worked out ok

Yeah my brother-n-law call's em lazy man's dogs, They do catch alot of hogs for him and dont get way out away from you while roading them, maybe 500 to 600 yards but once they hit a hog there gone in a flash and they will shut one down pretty quick which is nice cause i dont have to walk all over the country, We were able to drive within 10 feet of the sow, and maybe 500 yards to the boar. I don't know if the dogs are so gritty they keep one still or if it's bear catching and keeping them there but it works so we are happy, can't wait to get my little guys going with them once there big enough, I don't really want my dogs catching like bear cause I plan on using a catch dog but time will tell, Craig has said his stock wasn't real rough so I hope they stay that way hunting with rougher dogs like this, but my dog's will atleast have cut collars so it should work out good
