Personally they can't get here soon enough because I can't wait to get some field reports.  I've been holding off on buying a tracking system until I here how these do.

I have heard they will be shipped out next week.

Same here, I had my wildlife sold, then heard about the collars getting held back so I decided to keep my old system... think I'll give the new collars 6mnths to see if they hold up before I do anything...

Garmin keeps pushing the dates back on us.  As of right now, they are releasing the DC 30's on Monday, August 18th.  If that date sticks then we should have them middle of next week.

It's probably a good idea to wait a little while before rushing out and getting one.  See what people have to say about them first.

I was told that they would be out next week as well.  I am going to go ahead and pull the trigger on one and see how it does, however, I am going to run telemetry collars on them as well until I am satisfied with the other.

It's August 21st and I have not heard anything.  We are trying to contact someone to find out if we will for sure be getting the new Garmin's shipped to us today and the date when we might get them.

Here is the latest.  The Astro Bundle package (Astro w/ 1 DC 30) will start being shipped to us next week.  The DC 30 collars will be shipped to us the first week of September.  We have a waiting list, so customers on that waiting list will get theirs first.  If you would like to be added to that waiting list give us a call.  Once we get these out and get some customer feedback I'll let you know.

If these dates change (which they might) I'll keep you updated.

Do you think Garmin is having last minute problems with them or what.  All this pushing back has got me skittish of the unit, not to mention I was at my parents tonight and the satelite signal went out when a thunderstorm rolled by.  I dont know how a little collar is going to get a signal out of this thick vegetation around here especially if a storm blows up on us.  I guess we will see soon enough.  I am anxious to see.

We have 25 of the Astro Bundle packages (Astro 220 with 1 DC 30 collar).  These 25 will be shipped out to people on our waiting list.  We will be getting another shipment in later this week which will also be shipped out to people on our waiting list.  We have a long list of people on our waiting list.  If you want to be added to the waiting list give us a call.

For those of you that already have the Astro 220 and are waiting for the DC 30 collars only we should get our shipment of DC 30s in the first week of September.

I don't know why Garmin kept pushing the dates back.  I'll post any feedback I get about these new systems.

Thanks  for up dates  , Do you think  the DC30  will sell out fast . And will Garmin keep up with the demand ? Releasing  the  bundle first GARMIN have shown  NO loyalty to the test dummies who were the first  buyers of the Astro with the DC20    ,And have  lied  to us about  the release date more then once !  Angry     A    reminder that in big busines there is NO LOYALTY to those that lead the way !

That statement right there and all the other problems people have had with this system should tell everyone something... stay away from Garmin!

I agree 100%, Mike.  Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I haven't been dissatisfied with my current system enough to really desire to try anything else and especially for the asking price.  I think the people who find the Garmin system just so very easy to use are those who have never taken the time to become proficient with regular radio telemetry.  I guarantee, I can whip out my system and pin-point my dogs direction and get pretty darn close on distance in just a matter of seconds.

The DC 30s will sell fast at first.  Hopefully Garmin will be able to keep up.  I really do not know why Garmin did not release the DC 30s by themself first.  They did say that they would release the DC 30s before the Bundle.  I guess they changed their mind (and that sucks).

Since Garmin first announced the new DC 30 collars we have heard 4 or 5 different release dates.  We have been just as upset about this as everyone else.

I am skeptical about the new DC 30 collars.  I would recommend everyone to wait and see how they are going to do.  Some people still want to buy one even after I tell them this and that is fine.

When I hear something about how the DC 30s are working I will let everyone know (good and bad).

Bryan,

There are always those who feel they need the "newest" available item of whatever particular interest they have.

The rest of us thank those guinnea pigs for the money we save.
