well to start with i am wore smooth out..   friday Rod drove up from madisonville, to help out and im glad he did..   Rod got into town about 10:30 am fri and we saddled horses, the forcast was 90% rain all weekend so while we had clear skys we starded gathering, the big crew couldnt make it till sat so we recruted a couple of young fellas and my wife and kids. (sorry no pic from fri everyone was busy) we worked about 50 calves off this set of cows at the house..
after watching the wheather fri night sat was not looking good.   we had made plans to be at my house at 5:30 am.  i got up about 5:15 and the radar was clear so we went to it.
i had my usualy crew and a few young guns on the ground we gathered a set of 40 pairs and worked all them came back had some lunch.  ( i started the smoker before we left and my wife filled it up with stuff ).   after lunch we gathered the set in the north section  about 85 pairs.  sorted off the cows and drug some more calves.   we made it all day and never got rained on. sunday am me and Rod loaded the truck going to the stock yards and i carried the balance in my 24'...... i had a great time with some good freinds.

Good deal!! I could buy a calf table but why take the cowboy out of the cowboy!! If you don't train the young cowboys where are you going to get the future cowboys from a ropeing pen?Huh? Huh?

That is one hell of a contraption Craig, I saw one last week a man was pulling and up in the front of it was actually a one horse compartment where you could carry a horse with you while you pulled the pens down the road.  That is one smart man that thought of that.

Craig the portable pens are the way to go now days for me. Got too much lease country to be building pens all the time. Wish we had some young boys down here that where wanting to do what your guys are willing to do. All the bigest part of them want to do is sit on a horse and look the part. But it does my heart good to see young people still wanting to work. There are a couple of boys down here that still get after it but they stay hooked up most of the time. Great job and keep it up.
