I just talked to a guy at lunch about hog hunting and he asked me where i was hunting at. I know the guy but he doesn't know me. So i started telling him some of the areas i hunted in and told him the name of the place where he deer hunted. I knew this would get a rise out of him. lol. He went to talking nine kinds of sh!* about if he caught me out there he was gonna whoop my a$$ and that i dont have permission to hunt out there and that i stole his deer feeder. lol. First off i have permission from the man who owns the place, been huinting there for three years. Second he aint gonna whoop me nor my 85 pound ab. Third i would never steal a deer feeder that was feeding the hogs i was hunting. That just dont make and sense. I set there and talked to the guy once he calmed down and explaimed that there had been a bunch of people other than me out there that dont have permission. im not sayin that they would take it but now days u never know. for all i know jim bob down the road past the big tree and black cow could have drove in there and stole it. but he blames the hog hunters. How did we get such a bad rep. people dont see the good we do by taking the hog that root up there food plots and tip over there feeders and eat there corn. They jsut think bad about us. Sorry I just had to get this off my chest.

That is why I camo my deer feeders! They get stolen. What an idiot just going to blame anybody that has been near it. He should have a game cam next to it and then he would know who took it.

The game cameras usually get stolen at our lease right along with the feeders. Im glad I dont use either.
I was just talking with "Cutter Bay Kennels" today about the bad rap hog hunters get because of a few bad apples. The best thing we can do is police our own and be the best ambassadors of the sport as we can. I try to be a man people can trust everywhere I go and it has worked for me for over 20 years now. Its easy to do around the house were people know you but you really have to try hard to build trust in other places. Its worth the effort trust me. Sounds like you did some good with this guy even though he sounds like a pompass wind bag! Good job.

We had a dog loose his day glo coller w/ name plate here a while back. This guy calls my g/f and told her he found the collar and that if he caught us on "HIS" property, he would shoot our dogs. Come to find out the guy just leases the land for hunting, and that his wife's brother, Who Gave us permission to hunt it actually owns the land. The Guy precceded to call every day threating that he was gonna press charges against us and kept threating us. Her dad got tired of all the harrassment and told him that we have plenty of lawyers to go ahead. Then when we confronted him and asked about the deer stand and feeder on the other side of the fence being his, he denied it! Within a week the feeder and stand magically dissapeared. Now is the good part, He is a Preacher! Just because some one leases the property, they think that it's there's to tell who can and cant do something!

i had the same thing happen to me last year. we left from hunting a place and a man came sppeding up behind us so we moved over to let him by. He jumped out his truck and went to yellin and mother f ing me and sayin that i have been cutting his fence and riding my 4 wheeler on his place and that he owned both peices of land on both sides of the road. At the time i didn't even have a four wheeler and the person who actually owned the land on both sides of the roaad was my boss. When i got him straightened out he shook my hand and told me he was sorry, that he just didn't want hog hunters running off his deer. Some people are just idiots.

Dogs run right through one of my deer spots all the time. I have watched the deer just walk around a bush to let the dogs go by. I can put any idiot in a stand and let them watch the deer when a dog comes by. If the dogs are there regular the deer don't care about them. They just do not care to hang out with the dogs. But threaten to shoot my dogs and we are going to have a problem that can only get worse if you do it.

we hunt a orange grove 2 to 3 nights a week that is loaded with deer and they never go anywhere they are there everynight but we still have to deal with the B.S. from the deer hunters, they need to ask landowners who is helping them or just using them for a spot to sit and help themselves. They may shoot a hog or 2 every now and again but the amount of hogs sure seem to drop since we run our dogs through there, when we started hogs where running out in front of truck and acting like they never seen people before now we have to hunt for em.
