Ok I'm 20 years old and just started getting dogs and hunting with them and I'm trying to do things right. I live in a trailer park, my dogs stay kenneled but everyone elses chihuapoodlehounds run loose, that's my first question I shoot strays with a bb gun when they are in my yard. Can I get in trouble for doing so? My next question my cathoula goes every where with me she is normally in my truck or laying in the yard when I'm outside , she chased of a dog the other day and the owner was driving down the road and swurved into my neighbors yard to hit her. Then she was running with a dog trying to play with it. Hen I was at a neighbors house and the woman who tried to hit her husband drove by and stared me down. My dog doesn't cause any harm, but how do I handle these neighbors? They all ready hate me cause I bought there house and they had to move to another house down the road, I don't want any problems, I just don't want that guy doing any thing to my dogs. If she had hit my dog what should I have done?

I hate situations like that. But I am a direct person and take things head on. Be sure you do not threaten them in any way. But I would let them know in no uncertain way that if they hurt my dog there is going to be a problem. Right now there is not a problem. But there are crazy people out there. I would probably get in touch with law enforcement. Let them know who you are and that there is a situation. That way if you have to call them because it got worse they will have a heads up before they get there. But if cops go knock on their door and confront them they may settle down. My BMC gyp rides with me all the time and I know there would be a problem if anybody threatened my dog. But I would call the law before it becomes a bigger problem. Just my two cents

The days and times have changed from long ago... A man will get in a bad bind if he is caught doing harm to any animal out of spite..And believe me I know how aggravating it is to have to deal with neighborhood dogs that tear up your garbage and scatter it all over your yard and thats when you have already discussed the issue with the neighbors. The ole sayin, "Do unto others as you would have them do to you" is not a rule most people live by anymore.. Be real careful not to get caught up with the technicalities of the law, cause these days a honest man, livin by honest ways can be placed on the wrong end of the deal, when in actuality the way it should have been handled is like the good ole days and people would learn to respect each other and not hide behind the LAW>>>

confornt them and try NOT to be confrentational, contact the law if problems continue, if no luck with that, then u got a couple more options, take the issue to a higher law or set fire to their house. they will have to move just kiddin bout the fire. do inform the local leo's and see what can be done, but dont get caught shootin the other dogs, just run them off ur property, u can get in as much trouble shooting them with non-lethal just as tryin to kill them.

Why should I trade one tyrant three thousand miles away for three thousand tyrants one mile away? An elected legislature can trample a man's rights as easily as a king can!

them punji pits work great . but u wouldnt want to have a child or a bystandard fall into it . but if u were to dig the pit, with it not being near where u hunt. u could poo in a walmart bag or somethin to contain it and seal it off to keep it fresh and then when u get enuf, add water or p and fill the hole half way with the mixture. anything get caught in the pit and gets a cut or hole will get a serious staff infection very quick.

First off you need to see what the laws are in your area, does your county/city have a leash law? MOST ALL DO.
If you want the neighbors to abide by the laws you have to as well. Your dog should not chase other dogs off of your property - if your dog is loose off your property you are just as guilty.
If you are shooting at dogs with a BB gun you can be accused and charged with animal cruelty your self.
If the dfogs are in your yard then call the animal control and report it. take pictures and have proof. If they are intentionally gettting after your dog - catch them on camera or video, and then call the law.
You have to be good nieghbor to have a good neighbor.
If you live in a trailer park and have dogs kenneled and barking that close to your neighbors you may not want picking fights with your neighbors.
I would not tolerate someone swerving to hit my dog, however my dog would not be allowed to get in a position to be swerved at by a car either. If they were then I am responsible one for letting my dog, get in that situation.
If you are doing the right thing obeying the law, then have the law enforced on those who are not obeying the law. Too many laws are out there not being enforced and people just keep making more that also cannot be fairly enforced. When I know the law and its not be enforced, I will call and keep calling until something is done. They atleast have to make reports and then there is documentation for any future instances if it does end up in court, there is proof of trying to do the right theng and the judge will atleast have some documented background of where and how the problem esculated, otherwise its your word against theirs.
