i have the same problem with one of my male dogs i have tried everything he just dont eat that much and when he eats it takes him all day. took him to the vet they took blood and everything checked good no worms no nothing just dont like to eat that much you can put eggs, can dog food,or whatever you would think that would make him tear it up but he dont. if you figure out how to put weight on your dog let me know what worked for you.

I the dog is healthy and worm free and you want to try and add weight to the dog. Try some rice bran oil from tractor supply.

Does anybody use valbazin? i use it and zemectrin gold. just have to be very careful using valbazin on pups tho, will cause them to have the same symtoms as the dog in question.

I buy a 500cc. bottle of valbazin & add 25 cc. of ivamec. I give my grown dogs 4cc.of this mix once a month.I also use it on puppies, jut a smaller dose. My dogs stay smooth & healthy.

Charles I don't claim to know it all but I got my first hound pup at 12yrs old what little I know I learned by experience and readin every wormer and feed label I came across I've gathered good and bad information from Ole dog men One of there famous saying is It's good high protein feed LOL .The truth is if a dog isn't gettin a substantial amount of fat intake they want maintain weight if the feed is 26%protein & 8%fat in my experience it's hard to keep there weight up I try to buy feed with atleast 15% fat content . A little cookin oil a day will greatly increase the fat content or rice bran oil I've also fed (Raw meat) and bone scraps with great results . Omega fatty acids is also important for healthy skin and bones. If a dog has Whipworms it's impossible to put weight on them Valbazin and Panacur will get em but you need to worm them three days in a row at 1cc per 10pnds Zimecterin is also a good wormer but a couple guys I know lost young dogs to overdosage and it was mixed with propylene glycole so just be carefull with it anyway maybe something I said might work for ya If it get to aggrievating you can take a stool sample to your vet and have it tested that should pinpoint if there is a worm problem. Anyways, Good luck !
