They finally put a little update on their website. But no mention of any specifics or when they will be out..

I think of Marshall as I do Honda in the side by side world.  They are taking way too long to come out with their product and when they do it will still have problems as any product would when it is new.  By then the competition has already created brand recognition in the market and has a stronghold on the consumers.  They keep giving these little teasers and that is all.  Come out with what you have already and lets see it.  It makes me not even want to buy what they will come out with just because they have pissed me off taking so long not to mention it will likely be a inferior product for at least a few generations.

Matt,

    I feel about like you do.

Interesting analogy with the Honda side x side.... I actually saw my very first one on the highway in Concan this weekend.

Marshall = telemetry
Honda = four wheelers

I have been waiting for the Marshall system for awhile now. I was thinking it was gonna be better. But I am giving up waiting and I am going to buy the garmin. They are already 3+ generations past Marshall.

From there website

Quote
So when will these be available? I hope that you will understand that for competitive and technological reasons we cannot give you a precise answer to that question. Nor can we tell you details about what it will be like. In fact, I can’t even confirm whether certain rumors going around are correct or not, because that would also inform our competitors.

What do they have to hide? They only have one competitor and they are miles ahead of them and kicking there A$$.

If I ran my business that way I would be broker than I already am!  Grin

Based off of their past equipment releases, I don't agree with the above.  When he states in the article that they want it to be great for years, I believe it.  If you have ever used Marshall equipment, it sells itself.  Even if it means it cost more than their competitors.  If I am able to spring for one when they come out, I will own one.  I would not even think about questioning whether a "newer" version was right around the corner.  If they release it, it has been in the hands of houndsmen for a while, and has past "timber" tests.

I have owned and loved Marshall radio collars for years.  I still own them and run them behind my garmin but I have a hard time believing he or anyone can come out with a product that will be problem free the first time around.

Matt,

Their field testers have been hunting with their prototypes for a couple of years now.  They keep modifying them, and back to the field they go.  When Marshall feels that the systems are as good as the current technology will allow, they will be released.  Keep the faith brother.

I guess some people look at Honda different than I do.  Anything with Honda on the side is golden in my book.  They took forever getting their UTV to market but I'd be willing to bet the thing is dang near bullet proof.

I'll be sticking with Garmin unless marshall puts honda stickers on their units.  Afro

I do not care if they are better. By the time it comes out I will have invested in a Garmin set-up. I have been putting off getting a tracking system to see what they are going to come out with. I would not say like Honda. I would say it is like a super model. Some guy somewhere is sick of her sh!t. She may be the hottest thing out there. But I sure ain't holding waiting for her. The attitude seems to match too. Give me what you got or just stop flapping your gums! Marshal may come out with a great system but I ain't waiting any more! As far as I am concerned Marshall is kicked to the curb like a chump!

Dub,

Please tell us what brand and type of tracking equipment you are currently running.

Cull Buck,

     I forgot to mention Honda Generators too.. Grin
I have a couple of these, and they are awesome.

The Honda Big Red has been a flop sales wise... Maybe people expected too much from Honda on the sxs,  I think I was like many, in that I figured when it hit the market, it would blow me away... When in reality, after looking at it, I think they just jacked the Big Red name from the mid 80's line and hoped that would sell it...because the unit itself doesn't offer much to get excited about.

Unfortunately, I suspect that will be the case with the Marshall GPS... I hope I am wrong, and they come out with something FAR superior to the current offerings...  Maybe in a few more years, it will actually hit the market so we can find out.

 i don't know much about Marshall, but if they are anything like a Honda, then they are built to take abuse and keep on working. Wink

Cutter Bay I do not have a tracking system. I have been hunting with people using the Garmin and like it. I have been waiting to see the Marshall system before committing the money. But I need my own system within a month or so. So I am done waiting. Next week my stitches come out and I plan to be hunting a couple times a week and need to track my dogs.

Dub,
PM me if you would consider a used Garmin setup. I've got a total of 4 Dc-30 collars.

I called and talked to dennis messer from marshall about a week ago. He made the marshall system sound to good to be true. If it's what he says I will switch. I brought up  the exact same thing about by the time they get it out everybody will already be invested in the garmin and garmin will also be constantly improving their system.. I have used the marshall telemetry systems and they are very good but for the price they aint that much better than a quick track, which is what most people buy, simply because of the better price.. The Honda side by side or "Big Red" is a good example. Most people already have a Ranger and I can tell you from experience of hunting off a ranger for about 2 years, that  honda big red aint any better and dang couldn't they have made it  a little more eye catching? Those things look like they were built about the same time as the original "big red".. You can test something and keep redesigning it for years and then eventually that technology will be old and you will be back at the drawing board.. Make a move already..

I agree. It sounds like Marshall is still a year or more away from releasing anything. I am sure Garmin knows what Marshall is doing and is working on improvements. I would not doubt if they are working on and testing a collar more advanced than the dc40.

Garmin has a hell of a bigger budget for R&D than Marshall. They will take what is good for the Marshall unit and copy and intergrate it in there unit.

From what I've seen of the Garmin I can wait.

I used an MN-10 for years and liked it. I just bought a used quick track and like it better. If the Marshall products are good enough for the Military then that in itself says a whole lot for Marshall. I am not satisfied with the Garmin at this point and will wait for improvements from Garmin or whoever else that will have a better product.

In due time I will find it right here on this message board... Smiley
