try to make it short and sweet. as usual we were not having much luck. decided to hunt one last place since it was warming up fast. at about 11am dropped and shortly had a bay. one the way there it broke and the hogs scattered. one of them went for a run cross country with two dogs on its tail. after catchin up rest of the dogs we set out to catch up to the other two showing .7 of mile away. me and a buddy got around in front of them to find them bayed up on another property luckly i had access to get on the property. we head in to bay with dee & punkin. about 30 yrds out we cut em loose only to hear a hell of a fight startin. i go runnin in after the dogs. as im about half way there i hear the catch dogs barking....OH SH!T... ( never heard punkin bark at a hog befor). fight breaks out again as i get closer and see punkin go flying in the air over my head and im 6'2", and come crashing down in hackberry tree breaking limbs on the way back to the ground.  then off they go again. we finaly get him stopped again in cut corn feild and get him killed.

HIGH FIVES AND CHEST BUMPING ALL AROUND.  then reality sets in..............................RIP DEE.......

took him to get scored and after he told me the score i called mr weiser and he wanted to see for himself so we drove to halletsville and rescored him. lost some weight but still scored 765 and some change. finaly got home at 4:30am....

im gonna try to get photos up soon, didnt have my camera so i have to wait on others to get them to me...

Good job!!! Cant wait to see the pictures of that beast!

I am assuming it was the hog that got Dee but it was pretty hot this weekend. Either way it sucks.

RIP Dee.

yea she took some hits from the daggers...she was given to my buddy and i for a back up cd and she did her job.

the heat almost got me though by the time we got him on the trailer. my dumba$$ lost all the drinks that morning on the highway. lol

i owe it all to some good dogs , great freinds and a very awsome woman, (my fiance) that took the shirt off her back to try and stop the bleeding !!!!

Congrats man,....hate to hear about the dog though, that's a shame. We had a similar hunt last year, dog came head high end over end, but luckily we didn't lose her, only got cut up pretty badly. Looking forward to some pics of this biggun.

Congrats...great hog!  Sorry about the dog.

Not trying to ruffle any feathers or start an argument, but just so I'm understanding this correctly you took the hog to an "Official" scorer, but when your score was called in, it was questioned and so you had to make a trip to have it re-scored???  Doesn't sound quite right to me.  If a person is qualified to be listed as an "official scorer" for WWT, then their score should be final...no questions asked.   Just my .02...

one of the tusk curled back and almost grew into his jaw. it was very hard to get a measurement.  after the guy scored it i looked up the score and saw that it was higher than #1 so i began to worrie that it wasnt scored right because i had no idea how to score befor yesterday. i immedintly looked up mr weiser # and called with the news and questions. to avoid any question of doubt, i drove it down to the man himself.  it was my call to make sure things were done correct. if it has my name on it i want it to be right... i lost 20lb of weight through out the day. but i dont care.  it would have been 785 instead.

If the wieght was the ONLY thing that was diffrent between the two scores then I would think they go with the original weight and score...JMO! Cant wait to see the pics and sorry to hear bout the cd.

Just got off the phone with Randy...didn't know you guys were hunting together.

Sounds like a sure-enough monster.  Randy said the hog made a run at him, hit the side and tried to knock him off his Rhino.

CONGRATULATIONS, JASON AND ERIC!! THE OFFICIAL WWT SCORE HAS BEEN TURNED INTO WBUSA OFFICE.  THEY TAKE FIRST PLACE IN THE FREE RANGE BOAR CLASS WITH A SCORE OF 789.25W.  THE MONSTER WEIGHED 423 LBS. WITH A 4.25  INCH TUSK AND A 3 INCH TUSK.
THE FIRST SCORER WAS NOT QUESTIONED BY WWT.  JASON CHOSE TO HAVE IT DOUBLE SCORED JUST FOR PIECE OF MIND.  AFTER MICKEY WEISER (OFFICIAL SCORER) TALKED WITH THE FIRST SCORER IT WAS DECIDED TO USE THE ORIGINAL WEIGHT.
KEEP THOSE MONSTER HOG SCORES COMING IN.   THANKS TO ALL OF THE WWT SCORERS WHO FREELY GIVE THEIR TIME TO PROMOTE THE WILD BOAR RECORD BOOKS.
