Zach sent me a text earlier telling me we have thru the 1st weekend of October to dog on a place we have access to and then we have to lay off til the end of deer season.

I feel pretty sure out buddy's places will be shut down for the same reason, so I am guessing it is a common thing for a lot of you?

I guess the best thing I can come up with on the positive side, my young BMC gyp, Petra will be old enough to start when it's all over.

heres what alot were doing last year.

If i hunt during deer season, it is only at night and at places where deer hunters shouldnt be camping very close by!  Wink

I pretty much shut down too.  most of my places to hunt are leases, and besides that there are some crazy dudes in the orange army that just don't care about anything but that next set of antlers, damn the bright orange collar that dog is wearing, he's loose!  If i run during deer season it's well after dark.

Bobby, I used to dread deer season because I wouldn't put a dog in the woods in East Texas night or day. I been fortunate the past several years to have all these city properties to hunt right on thru the season.

The biggest problem I have to deal with is the damn outlaw deer hunters that try to sneak in every season! Evil

Well I knew it was coming on this property, The land owner sells his bucks by the hunt. I didnt know when it would start.

But the good thing is, when asked if we would be allowed back after deer season, the answer was " Absolutely!! "

We will still hunt thru deer season, but only at night and only certain properties. We are out of there well before daylight. We also stay right on top of the dogs because some of the places next to were we hunt we have permission to go in and get our dogs if they cross the border, but we don't let that happen during deer season.

If any body is intersted I've got a 40 acre wooded training pen.  It's open to all catagories of dogs!!!!!I'm located down south.  I promise you it will give any dog a workout!!!
