Hope you can swim, that river is shallow and the hogs have no trouble moving to Oklahoma!

I HAVE HUNTED A SMALL BIT OF THE RED FROM AROUND CHILDRESS TO NORTHWEST OF BURKBURNETT. I HUNT ON THE RIGHT SIDE THOUGH (OKLAHOMA)  HOGS ARE ABUNDANT.  QUICKSAND IS A MAJOR PROBLEM ON THE RIVER ITSELF  I WAS HUNTING FROM A 4 WHEELER.  WHAT AREA ARE YOU GOING TO HUNT?

Not quite sure the exact location yet but I will find out this week hopefully and be able to tell yall.  But this is why I questioned the board, want to know the pros and cons.  I like to know ahead of time what I'm gettin myself into. : )

The Red river boys have been posting big hogs from that country all year! I dont think you will be disappointed at all! Judging from the size they have been catching, be sure to eat your "Weaties" before you hunt!

Good luck

different parts of the river are rougher than others. some places are even hard to get to on a wheeler much less a truck.  in october the hunters shouldnt be to bad cause its only bow season in october. your chances are pretty high that you start in texas and catch in oklahoma for sure. good luck yall shouldnt have any trouble gettin on pigs if you have 7 miles to run.

I think Ive hunted on the Red a total of 4 times, ended up in the water 2 outta 4.  The last time I went I was called to come up to a huge ranch that was said to be covered in hogs.  Dogs ended up bayed across the river on a sand bar. Way too deep and too fast to swim, no bridges for 7 or 8 miles either way. Stayed several hours and they were just hammering away still.  Left my shirt and drove back up the next morning, my old Shadow dog was back, but Hollywood was just a pup, and still in Ok. Anyway, he ended up being an okie for 3 days before I was able to locate him.  Needless to say...I havent gone back  Cheesy  But good luck to ya!

FORREST, OKLAHAOMA HAS NO LAWS ON HOGS, BOUT THE ONLY THING I THINK YOU WOULD HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IS TRESSPASSING AND I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE ATV ON FEDERAL LAND.

I think the hogs up there are evolving and the swimmers are breeding....
