I dont post many pictures because frankly I figure folks prolly see pleny dead hogs.  Undecided
Ben ( Buckhunter 1983 ) kind of got on me to post a few pictures of the hunt this weekend so I told him I would.

We hunt 2 or 3 times a week and for the past few years Sunday's have sort of become the day that some of our kids along with grandkids and t heir buddies show up. It's a day Bob and I really enjoy..

This is Wendy ( Bob's daugher ) and someof the grandkids with their buddies,

Wendy and her husband Kelly

Jim Bob's wife's ( Amanda) huntin boots  Shocked Grin

We got I think 5 hogs over the weekend, this is one the dogs ran into a pond.

Ben and Barlow fishing one out of the pond

Ben draggin another one out of a hole

Ben trying to get his gyp located..

Bob trying to Blow the dogs  in. They were bayed way down in a big nasty swamp, it was gettin hot and late.

It's a small black cowhorn, made in 1947 by a blind man who lived in Houston. He gave it to me in the early 70's when I lived in Spring. I used to take him coon hunting a couple of nights a week.

Thanks for posting the pics Skoal, one thing about that ole horn is you better not be in front of Bob when he blows the darn thing or you will not be able to hear a dog bay the rest of the day  Smiley  Its been great hunting with you guys and the family, a real learning experience for me, and to watch some great yella dogs work is a bonus also. Im glad Bear has his MOJO back but damn it makes for some long days trying to get him caught.

If he quit and came to me when he's on a hog he thinks he can bay he wouldnt be what he is, I know I would not have near the respect for  him that I do.. He cant help the fact he was born with ability, nose, drive, ton's of want to and  the bottom some folks dream of. Shoot if he aint on a hog, he minds like a alter boy... it's just the very thing that  makes  him what  he is Ben. What  you see in Bear will stick with you for many years Ben. It can be a curse.. you have a benchmark and when you have seen what a good one really is, it gets hard to please you. Makes for lots more cullin..

I understand completly David, thats a high bar for an up and coming dog to compare to and be judged by. I hope in my time I get the chance to own some as good as the one's you already have had and will have.

I dont think Barlow has come hunting in 6 months or more but says he's gona start hunting again. When he showed up Saturday, He told me it had been to hot to hunt, I just looked at him, shook my head and said you pooooooooor baby.  Cheesy Cheesy
He's still got a sister to the pup you have, shoot I think if he hunted her enough and got off her case she just might make a decent dog. Ben's pup looks like he might want to be a hog dog to.. time will tell.
I'll check on the boots but I think they were sure nuff Cheep  Wally World specials..  Shocked  Ya see, Amanda aint into hog  hunting... lol

Bryant,
We are pulling blood on him tomorrow to see for sure where he’s at. But, He’s back to his old self and doin good so far. We still catch hogs when he isn’t there but no doubt business picks up when he is in the woods.
