Below is a request from Rosanna Brown, Doberman Pinscher Club of Dallas, for
action regarding a Burger King Commercial. Please print out and call the
corporate phone numbers below and express your dissatisfaction with this
commercial. Explain to them politely that this commercial is the
reason owners of many large breed dogs cannot get Homeowners Liability
Insurance or have to give up well mannered beloved pets because of Breed
Specific Legislation. Tell them you will not be eating there in the future
unless there is a public retraction with an apology and/or positive message.

From Rosanna:
Dear AKC Representatives;
I took great offense to a recently released Burger King commercial that
perpetuates breed stereotypes. The ad shows a mailman
walking along a sidewalk with a dog attached to each of his pant legs. The
jingle starts with, "Rottweilers and pit bulls - doing the mailman thing."
This is as ludicrous as having as a commercial featuring an American soldier
walking down a neighborhood singing, "Islams and Muslims,
doing the terrorist thing, . . . "
Burger King Facebook posting on September 22 at 10:59 a.m. reads: "Thanks
to all who've shared your thoughts on one of our breakfast
menu ad spots. We respect all points of view & share your love for dogs too.
The storyline of this spot was intended only to be a parody of the age-old
"turf battle" between mailmen & dogs, nothing more than that. This spot is
part of our multi-spot breakfast launch that will continue to run over the
next few weeks. Thanks again for your feedback."
Please contact this Corporation and ask them to cease and desist. Burger
King needs to be educated on the sensitivity of breed-profiling and the
company needs to stop airing this commercial. Here is Burger King
