Does anyone make their own cut collars and vests?  If so, what do you use to make them?  I may have my wife make a couple.  Thanks.

I have made cut collars out of everything from leather weight lifting belts to cargo straps and they have worked fair.
Before I make my own again, I will beg, barrow and steel to afford the ones that are available from reputable manufacturers now a days! I cant make them that good and after I step back and look at the time and money I put in mine to begin with, I can buy them cheaper than I can make them!

You mentioned having your wife make them. Now that’s a different story!!!  Grin
There is an old post on here that covers this subject pretty well. I will see if I can find it and post the link.

you can get a damm nice cut collar for less than 25$ from wildboarusa  I'm fixin to order a hot pink 4'' with name plate, 20$ for the collar 2$ for the plate and a few $$ for shipping it,s hard to make one for less that will do the job!!  they have velcro and double rust free buckle's I'm super happy with the last one's i've got from them..

I've made a few! I posted a couple up in another thread, If you don't mind the ties I use to hold it together I will explain how I put them together. I've used the same ties since I put hem together and ahven't had a faliure yet but I also have a few extras in my pack just in case! Like mentioned though, If you aren't making them for the satisfaction involved you could just buy one already made for about the cost of material. Looks like BoarNinja may have gone out to do some ninjain, I will see if I can find the post for ya!

I looked into making my own a year or so back, looked at all the material that is currently being used to make the ones you can buy and unless your making a bunch it was cheaper to buy what was needed..

sometimes it aint about the price you can buy something for as apposed to making it, like apple pie, i could go to walmart and buy one or buy the ingredients and go through the hassle of making it, but in the end ill be happier with what i made than what i bought.  thats just me anyways. im a handy dude!
