Looks like we better get ready!!  How important are your working dogs to you?  Would you like to keep them?  Unite and become a member of LSWDA and so we can help RPOA tell HSUS and PETA Texas is NOT where they want to be!!!

November 4, 2010

Good Job, MO Fed!
Even though Prop B passed, MO Fed is to be congratulated for conducting an
impressive ablbeit expensive statewide educational program on HSUS's agenda
to end all use of animals whether you eat them, wear them or pet them.
Phone banks, banners and the works! Incidentally, Missouri has had a
Commercial Breeder Law for many years.
Texas law doesn't allow initiatives and referendums; however, HSUS has been
pouring millions into our state preparing for the upcoming session of the
Texas Legislature which convenes in mid-January. (Note below the $4.3
million H$U$ spent in MO!)
Vegan President Wayne Pacelle has been to Texas twice for major fundraisers
and lobbying with Texas Humane Legislation Network (their Texas associate)
this Summer. The billboards are up in Austin and never came down actually.

Texas bills will be filed beginning mid-month. Extreme animal groups are
bragging that we'll face a so-called "puppymill" bill (anti-breeding bill),
mandatory dog and cat spay/neuter, and breed specific legislation ... once
again! Same Show, Act II! And that's just for starters. They've been
playing the media with horrible cases of neglect from animal seizures being
made under "existing" animal cruelty laws ever since HB 3180 was defeated
last session. Hello ... isn't this working now?
Donations for RPOA Texas Outreach's lobbying efforts can be made with PayPal
or mail in at:
www.rpoatexasoutreach.org
which is our IRS (C)(4) nonprofit organization. Donations are not tax
deductible.
We now have $10,000 in the bank (a mere pittance) and must send that to our
lobbyist Gib Lewis, former Speaker of the House, soon as partial payment.
Last session we defeated 14 bad bills with a lot of help from our friends
with other animal interests. (More info to follow later. In the meantime,
forward this e-mail to your veterinarian!)

From Karen Strange, MO Fed President:

Dear MoFed, MPBA and PPA Members and Associates,
While last night's election results were disheartening, we have had
great victories in many ways. Only 60,000 votes separated our two sides out
of 1.9 million votes cast! What a feat! When the ballot initiative was
dropped at the Secretary of State's office last November, the animal right
groups boasted a 91% approval rating. Just three short weeks ago, they had a
69% approval. For us to knock them to their knees with only 51.6 % of the
vote is nothing short of a miracle! I realize that you as a breeder,
business or interest in the industry are disappointed at the outcome and
unsure of your future, but rest assured, this fight is far from over!

Proposition B will NOT go into affect for one full year, and being a state
law rather than an amendment to our state constitution, it can be amended at
the state capitol. Keep in mind that MoFed has been battling the animal
rights groups for a full twenty years, and we have absolutely NO intentions
of backing down now! I cannot and will not give details on our plans at this
time, but rest assured, things are already in the works. We will NOT back
down, we are NOT going away, and we will NOT rest until we have run HSUS and
their ilk out of our state!! We will continue to expose the lies and deceit
put forth by the animal rights groups. We fully support Frank Losey in
exposing the excessive lobbying and tax exempt status of the groups involved
in promoting Prop B. It is time HSUS, HSMO and ASPCA paid their taxes like
you and me, and stopped parading as not-for-profit organizations soliciting
funds to use for political purposes!

I am very proud that we cost HSUS and their ilk over $4.3 million in their
fight against us! We intend to cost them a lot more and to continue exposing
their agenda in their quest to end agriculture as we know it! The public was
duped in this fight and we will continue our work! As we have stated many
times, Prop B was merely a battle in the war against animal rights. We came
very close to beating the enemy. We may not have won this particular battle,
but keep in mind that very few wars have a victory in every battle. We are
out to win the war, and win the war we will!!!

I am receiving numerous calls about where we go from here. We are mounting
the troops. We are visiting with the various agriculture allies we worked
with throughout the campaign along with leaders in the pet industry and
those who helped in the campaign. We are moving forward as an army to take
back our rights and to protect our farms and animals. We need YOU to step up
with us in our march to move forward. We have many avenues we can take
against Prop B. The opposition is boasting of their win, but trust me,
victory is not theirs yet!!

Many of you helped by making phone calls, putting out signs, talking to
everyone possible about voting no, driving endless miles to do any work
needed, attending festivals, putting on fundraisers, and showing that we
were in this battle together. We still are! Thank you for your hard work!

We need each of you to take a deep breath, relax for a few days and get
ready to fight! PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR DOGS DOWN OR PANIC AND GET RID OF
THEM!! We have a long way to go and many battles ahead before Prop B becomes
law.

Several of us in the campaign are getting our heads together to plot our
next moves. Please stay on board and be there for the battles ahead. We feel
good about our close numbers in the election, and all the calls I have
received this morning from legislators have been great. We apparently were
the talk of the town last night at many of the watch parties for state and
federal campaigns. All were totally thrilled with our fight and how well we
did.

Hold your heads high. The professional pet industry is well respected in
our state, and nearly one million people stepped up to your defense at the
ballot box. That is truly amazing!!! Be proud, be determined and join with
us! We WILL win the war against animal rights! Animal rights groups think
they smeared you and your business. Look at the election results and you
will see that outstate Missouri is fully aware of HSUS and their deceit.
Life will never be the same again or them in Missouri!

Please help us in thanking those who willingly supported us in our fight.
If you see yard signs or put any out, please pick them up as a courtesy to
those who displayed them. If you drive down the road and see a Prop B sign,
please stop and pick it up. They must all be removed after the campaign, and
we want to show our gratitude by gathering them up. If you see anyone who
put them out, thank them for their support. 16,000 signs is awesome! Let's
be thankful to those who put them out.

I am very proud of each and every one of you. We were attacked by huge
out-of-state animal rights groups and we showed our strength and unity. To
everyone who helped, you did a magnificent job! We made tremendous strides,
and we are going to continue our fight against the enemy. We need each and
every one of you to stand beside us as we march forward. Thank you for all
you have done and will continue to do.

Give your dogs a hug and tell them we are not going to back down in our
fight to protect them. We will be in touch soon with our strategies and
plans. Keep working in your kennels and taking care of your dogs. Do not
panic and please do not euthanize or get rid of your dogs. They should not
suffer at the hands of animal rights zealots who have personal agendas, and
they certainly should not be handed over to the enemy! Rest assured they're
not getting mine!!! Don't give in and let them have yours! There is much
work to do on Prop B at the capitol, and we need each and every one of you
to step up to the plate and help!
Keep fighting and we'll be in touch soon with our first plan of attack!
Remember, revenge is very sweet indeed!
