Giving BULLDOGS a New Name

Went and hunted a new property with Scott Pialle (Imthebadman) this morning. I got a new place to hunt, about 900 acres here close to home, I was told it is full of hogs and I tell ya I dont know that Ive ever hunted a spot like it. The AirBoat is definately gonna come in handy Grin   We hunted some first timers however much to my surprise three young guys showed up from Cooper with a pack of dogs. Within about 30 mins. Salty bayed a group of hogs, the Garmin showed Fred closing in on her fast. Once we had a good solid bay going we moved in close turned MAX loose, He was the only CD Cool. Had a nice Boar bayed solid which is good to see out of Salty and Fred who usually try to catch everything. Max slammed him in front of everybody, which the large group of hunters enjoyed. Isnt it funny how the bay dogs can work thier butts off and the catch dog comes in and steals the show? The ranch owner moved in and made a great stick, we took a few pics, noticed on the Garmin that Salty and Fred had moved out about 600 yds in a hurry. We jumped on the 4 wheelers and headed toward them. Shut off the 4 wheelers and herd Salty baying about 100 yds in the thick stuff, the instant I cut Max loose the hog broke and headed across a wide cold river. I heard Fred bay up again then salty at which time I see Max almost across the river swimming like a fish toward the bay. I new we had a bad situation here because Max is getting ready to catch this hog and Salty and Fred will be caught with him and we have no way to get to them, they are on a big island! I look over the bank and here are two guys bass fishing in a boat! we asked them if they saw the dogs cross behind the hog and they said yes and asked if we needed a lift across. WOW! What LUCK if there is such a thing. Scott invited the two anglers to make a rough 100 yd Jungle Penetration where the dogs were caught on the 2nd Boar. One said he would love to the other said no way Cheesy  We went in, Scott legged the Boar and let the gentleman who ferryed us across the river stick the pig. He was so excited, he said my wife will never believe me. We took a few picks with his I Phone and my cammera and he gave Scott, Max, and Myself a lift back to the side we started. Scott Gutted the hog and we gave it to the fishermen. The unfortunate thing here is Salty and Fred had rolled out as soon as we caught that hog and for the next two and a half hrs we listened to Salty and Fred bay hogs! Both together and seperate bays! They were awesome and I was very proud of them, they hunted deep and hard for 4 hrs and bayed a bunch of hogs this morning before we were finally able to call them back to the bank where with a little coaxing swam back across that big old river. We gladly gave them a lift back to the truck. The boys with the other dogs were very polite and complimentary our dogs. We had a great time and made some new friends. Our new friends in Cooper told us they have 5 or 6 thousand acres we can hunt with them anytime as long as they can bring a couple of young dogs along. Well of course they can......lol

You know it was fun, and it sure makes you feel good when someone tells you "Its a good thing you brought those dogs of yours". They are just dogs but someone else thought they were special.

We did have a heavy Frost this morning but that stuff that looks like snow is actually CatTail seed. It was terrible, it was hard to breathe. The 4 Wheelers need a powerwash just to get it all off.

This is what it is all about. Good times and making memories. When i can't get out of my out of my recliner, i want to talk about what i did do, not what i didn't do. We go hunting with dogs and a knife. With my best friends and new friends. Sidney
