Et tu, Brute? Texas Veterinary Medical Association joins hands with HSUS
and their Texas lapdog, Texas Humane Legislation Network, on the "Pet
Elimination Bill!"

video so falsely portrays?"
A la San Francisco, CA: Texas pet stores and pet sales are being banned in
Texas cities as we speak. Austin and El Paso to date. Pet limits are
shrinking every day as recently passed in Longview; and Dallas previously.
Texas Humane Legislation Network (THLN) has an attorney member and chapters
in each metropolitan area getting anti-pet legislation passed.
After supporting responsible dog and cat owners during the 2009 Texas
Legislative Session, Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA) has now
switched sides and is helping draft a new Humane Society of the US (HSUS)
Anti-Breeder Bill in our state. (See video at url above.)
This is not a "breeder" issue. It's a "pet" issue. The bill has nothing to
do with animal cruelty because the video shows a raid and seizure of dogs at
a substandard breeding facility under existing laws. Raids and animal
seizures occur on a regular basis in Texas and no one wants to see animals
mistreated.
Wayne Pacelle, vegan HSUS president, has stated: "... I don't want to see
another dog or cat born." And also "... We have no problem with the
extinction of domestic animals." HSUS is PETA in a suit. Wayne claims
these statements are taken out of context but any way you slice it, his
words are there.
We're all aware of PETA's "ABC Campaign" (Animal Birth Control) that urges:
"Never buy from breeders or pet stores to work toward a 'No Birth' Nation."
SNAP (Houston and San Antonio Spay Neuter Assistance Program) slogan:
"No-Birth" is the first step to "No-Kill."
We have statements from two HSUS state directors and THLN which say the goal
is to get "anything" passed and they'll be back in subsequent sessions to
"amend" it and tighten the noose on pet ownership.
Last legislative session, RPOA defeated a breed specific bill, a mandatory
spay/neuter bill and the anti-breeding bill. It doesn't take a rocket
scientist to know that if there's no breeding and every dog and cat is
sterilized in this state there'll be no pets in the future. No Pets = No
Vets!
Other states fortunate enough to have the support of their state veterinary
organizations against this radical agenda are Minnesota, Missouri, Georgia,
Nevada with American Veterinary Medical Association opposing Missouri's Prop
B. Have our Texas vets deserted us?
Contact TVMA executives below and ask them to oppose the HSUS/THLN
Anti-Breeding Bill in any form. Because of the radical national HSUS
legislative agenda, this bill cannot be satisfactorily amended and must be
defeated! Contact your personal veterinarian and fax or email him this
message.
