A few days ago I was thinking to myself.... I have been doing this hog dog thing for about 3-4 years and have yet to loose a dog to a hog. Well I guess I forgot to knock on wood as last night we lost a good one, Chomper died doing what he loved. He was a great catch dog but had one bad habit, he liked catching on the nose or cheek. I was not on the hunt, but when the guys had a solid bay the let Chomper go......the bay broke before he got there so he rolled out and found his own, by the looks of it it was a big one. By the time the guys got to him he got a slice under his chin and got the jugular. I had just bought him a new vest and it was the first time wearing it....it got him under the chin flap. We have legged alot of hogs over Chomper. RIP buddy....
