Not sure what half breed is but it looks like a Ferrel hog to me. Seen a few that look like that. Even got one like that with a club foot.

Same deal with this hog....Hog farmer had his pen of domestic hogs on the property we were hunting...several had gotten out over time and breed in with the feral hogs.....They make some big, good eating hogs!!!  Wink

These are the ones you turn back loose for breeding ( Hamshire swine ). Kill and cut the black ones.

I've always heard them called "listed" hogs. Its just a ferrel hog bred with a domestic "Hampshire".

I just had a blue listed boar that is half hampshire half piney woods rooter born a couple weeks ago and I plan in catching some sows and breeding him to them and turning the sows back loose.  Hopefully I can put some good blood and alil bit of color into the population  Grin

I can tell you this about the sperm count.  I have a buddy that farms hogs, and he has told me that litters of 11 are the norm for him.  His stud boar is a hampshire and his sows are all either york or woods hog.

Hampshire is the breed.  Listed only describes the hogs marking.  ie: the white band down the middle.  There are lots of breeds that are listed other than Hampshires.
