I'd say they are saddle back unless the black goes down the legs but those both good looking dogs. Does anyone know of a breeding of two reverse or two saddlebacks and what thecolor pups it throws

Bryant, This is what I think of when someone says Reverse BMC or Black and Tan. That's a good looking black and tan. The tan rich and dark.

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

I have both Yellow and what I call Saddleback dogs (from the same litters) and some of you guys are confusing me. Are you referring to dogs that look like this, or more what I would call a Black and Tan Cur which is mostly black with tan trim? I have never seen a reverse cur in my life, only black and tan or black and high tan or saddle back or black saddle and tan. I can not see it in my mind.

The line of dogs I own and hunt were started by a friend of mine breed. The original "foundation dogs" of this line were all yellow. The Saddleback showed up later. Perhaps as a result of tight breeding?? In later breedings (Saddleback X Yellow) or (Yellow X Yellow) he's always gotten both Yellow and Saddleback pups from the same litters. He had a litter of pups whelped last February that was a Saddleback X Saddleback breeding..first time that cross was made. Of those pups, some were Saddleback and some were more the Black and Tan cur color. When the pups were born, they were all dark and all looked alike. The ones that turned Saddleback, the yellow lightened with time. There were no solid yellows from that litter. These pups are probably tighter bred than you can imagine. I would think if there was anything else in the lineage, it would have shown by now.

I call reverse bmc the dogs like Bryant has, but some may call saddleback. Whatever they may be called they are good looking dogs. My Lou dog is colored just like those Bryant has.

Reversre is just a color that curs have in them if they are linebred to bring it back out, it part of the yellow color they have, i used to get it ocassionaly nd that was from a yellow blck mouth cur that came from Jude Hart before he died.
