ive hunted in there several times been years ago.lots of country.unless you do a lot of scouting or have some one telling you were they are. it can be some long gruling days trying to find them!

Yep I agree 100%. Kind of hard to find without some hard scouting. I live right in the middle of it. We hit it Monday night with no success but they are here. Just gotta find them.

I didn't know you could run dogs in the national forest but don't you need a permit or something because when I bowhunted there 2 years ago you had to have a permit.

All you have to have to hunt in the Davey Crockett National Forest is a valid hunting license. If you want to shoot a doe you have to have a permit but to shoot a buck or run hogs with dogs all you need is a regular hunting license. If you hunt in the WMA area (Alabama Creek) outside of Apple Springs then you need a permit just to hunt. Dont get caught in their running dogs. Their is thousands of acres by my house that we hunt. Lots of sloughs and creeks. Nice country. I live in between Kennard and Apple Springs. I think Sam Houston NF you cant run dogs their if I am not mistaken. Let me know if ya have any questions about it over here. I have lived here all my life.

I stay in corrigan south of apple springs. How come u can run dogs outside of apple springs?

Yea I know Tanner Hadley from Corrigan. Suppose to go hunt the Carter Pasture sometime soon. You can hunt all of Davey National Forest except the Wildlife Management Area (WMA) outside of Apple Springs. I think if you hunt their you have to have a permit. Every where else in the Davey Crockett national forest is cool. Just got to have a hunting license. Do you hunt around Apple Springs?

Yea I know tanner don't talk much to him but I know him. Is the Carter pasture down camden? I just started hog huntin and I hunt with my buddies John and Paden hooks down in moscow. Do you know rooster (Johnathon rester) from apple springs I use to work with him at Georgia pacific.

Haha yep Thats my boy right their. Take a look at the Dogs on Hogs forum and go down to almost the bottom of it and look at First hog of the year for some rookies. Thats me and Rooster. Me and him always go hunting together. Every week he is in we go. Ill have to tell him I talked to ya on here. Might have to get together and make a round with the dogs at my lease or something. Got some good ones over their.

Yea I seen that post rooster has some good lookin dogs. Last time I talked to him was when he still worked out at Georgia pacific. Yea that's sounds good Im still learnin about hog huntin don't know awhile lot but I know some.
