basically just started hog doggin had got a german short haired pointer and took her out dove hunting, well she didnt find any dove but she took off following the hawg trail end up hearing her baying a nice lil 100lb boar it took a couple steps toward her when we walked up and i guess cuz i was there she was protecting me but she grabbed a hold that ear and just went to town and held that pig was able to get her off and took home a nice hog, so i decided if she wanted to hunt hogs i would take her i have since picked up a nice catch dog who has proven her self already on some lil pigs for me but i did get her from someone who already hunted her, i'd really like to go run with some guys or gals around here i live in cleburne but i will travel a lil to make some new friend catch some hogs have a good time can bring my dogs or not doesnt matter much to me just want to hang with some experienced hog doggers im availible most nights

I hear pointers are good at finding hogs. They tend to be a bit gritty. At least that is what I have been told. I have an English Pointer That has not shown interest in hogs yet. But I think they will work good when temps start hitting the upper nineties or 100's.
