Cabins or lodging around the frio?

fortunatley my wife still hasnt gotten a ethd account so im safe here my wifes birthday is coming up soon and instead of a stupid surprize party like she thinks im doin, i want to just wake her up and tell her shes got thirty minutes to get packed and hual butt up to the Garner State Park area.

I have already googled a few places but wanted yalls feedback. were only able to stay one night so thats the kikker, the cabins and stuff make you pay for two nights minimum and im a cheapskate

does anyone have any recomendations? also anything else thats fun to do up there in Feb? im hoping to make this a real special weekend, becuase im hard to live with and i know it!

You better give her more than thirty minutes or you will be in trouble. You will have to come up with some lame place y'all have to go and stay overnight. Like some family member has an emergency. They will try to put you up in a hotel overnight but you have to leave as soon as possible. The water is leaking from the roof or whatever. If you need a phone call to set off the emergency let me know and I will call when you need it.

i grew up 15minutes away in Sabinal and a good chunk of my life was spent in Concan, the majority of it was spent watching the eye-candy go floating by     Back to the point...A buddy and i share the same birthday in May and a trip to the river has become a birthday ritual among our friends and for several years now we've rented a cabin mostly from "FRIO FUN". the last few years we chose cabins on "Mariposa Street" which is a private-drive off the main drag in Concan(River Rd) for around 200 a night and that was for a house that slept around 10 people or more every time and theyve been really nice cabins but we've always rented for several days at a time so i dont know how a one-nighter would cost you. but i bet ya that since its the off-season up there, theyd rent you a cabin for a night no problems. worth a look into anyway. As for things to do in February....     i might not be the best at answering this part lol, youve got Garner of course, golf course next to House Pasture is pretty fancy if youre into golf, they might be doing helicopter tours this time of year as well, Rio Frio has a giant tree thats now a historical marker for being so large, a guy i went to school withs grandad does horseback trail rides in Utopia a few minutes away; named WagonWheel Rides or soemthing along those lines, if all else fails, there oughta be enough water flowing to go kayaking!  hope that i didnt waste too much of your time with all that!  you guys have fun and i hope your wife enjoys her birthday! take care -lawson
