What is the law about hog hunting on type 2 land if you have a type two permit.

as far as i know. only certain spots can be ran but not all of them... shnf u cant but crocket u can.  live oak creek is only feburary.... just what i have heard... iwould like to know about  caddo national grass lands. my self

i called a couple of  the ranger station or the phone numbers at the bottom of the book page....but sum dont have them.... i use to deer hunt sum of them lands lots of hogs on them......i would be willing to travel and  camp out to run that land again..if u find out anythingh let me know

If you buy the permit they will give you a book explaining the rules as far as dogging goes on each unit.Many in southeast/east Texas allow you to catch hogs by any means necessary year round.Just make sure you have on an Orange vest.I think I paid 45 bucks for the permit and it was worth every dime.

we run dogs on white oak wma...its only in february and the first two weeks are draw hunts only...if you put in for a draw and got it then u can use your atv...other than that...your on foot...tons of pigs though

No ATVs will be allowed at Whiteoak this year. I just talked to Jerry Ash the last day of duck season and he said it will only be for handicapped hunters even during the february hog season. I also looked it up on TPWD website.

according to the book and the admin over it...the first two weeks of february were for draw hunts only....if you were drawn then they are done the same way as the deer hunting draw...you can take your atv but you have to stay on the designated trails...which is useless for dog hunting...

what other type 2 land can we run dogs on besides white oak creek and crocket national forest.. i dont mind traveling.. and its only day time hours to run there rite

yeah david its me.....9035731370....give me a call and i will tell you wha i know....one of the guys that works for white oak has a kid in my daughters class and he is supposed to be going with us after the two week draw is over.

What do you mean he is going with you after the draw,the hog season with dogs only lasts two weeks,are you going with him after the season closes....

Every time i have hunted White oak creek my dogs get in with somebody elses dogs kinda sucks hard........

the dog season is the entire month of February...first fourteen days are draw hunts only and you can use atv's...second two weeks is open to everyone, but no atv's .....im not going to worry about our dogs getting in with other packs this year cause nobody wants to walk hunt.
