American bulldogs that Work... BRILLIANT!!

Followed the ice storm this weekend to Louisiana to hunt with Obie Semmes and Derrick BlackmouthD.   Got there late Friday night so we could hit the woods early Sat. morning.   The dogs hit the ground at about 8:30 am, a little later than we wanted due to the ice and cold weather; we picked the last dog up at almost 9 pm.   So many things can go wrong when you hunt that long in wet, cold, muddy and sticky conditions.   Like getting stuck tons of times, losing my dog because his Garmin collar stopped working,  getting a flat on the Atv dog trailer, hogs that ran like crazy, breaking my Oakleys and my camera wrestling a hog, Derrick almost ripping the winch off his Polaris and then after all that not having a good way to take any pics of the days hard work. Lol

Obie told me that the hogs on their place ran a lot and did not bay up real easy and that was so true.  The dogs worked hard all day striking up pigs, we just could never get the bulldogs to them fast enough.  I brought Crown with me, and Derrick and Obie had a new pit named Oreo they were using.   We decided later in the afternoon after chasing Derricks two girls for miles, that when the dogs got a bay again we were going to cut the bulldogs loose if we were within 500 yards.  So as darkness was approaching Lola and Luo got bayed up again about a mile and a half away from us.  We rushed to them and got to within 450 yards.  We then cut some help dogs loose and as soon as we heard them we let Crown and Oreo go.   As we rushed to the barking we all got separated because the barking stopped.  I thought the hog broke but soon heard Obie yelling caught hog.   When I arrived to the caught hog and saw how big and angry it was, I thought it was a boar.  But it ended up being one big pissed off ol sow   She was a tough one but  we finally got her tied and loaded.  Not sure how much she weighed but I am 260 and she was as big as me.  Thanks to Obie and Derrick for the hospitality and good memories.  Just wish my dam camera did not get smashed.  Pics before broken camera and some phone pics.   BTW, good job to Lou and Lola and to my boy Crown for the nice catch.  Did find my dog Blackie with the use of his radio collar.

Derrick with his younger boy who was a trooper on the hunt but in the end could not stay awake.
