i just bought a 2 year old Blue Lacy. She is very timid and i was wondering how long it usually takes for them to settle in and start working to their  best ability. im sure they are all different, but was wondering what different people thought. i got her coming to me really good and finally wagging her tail and acting like she likes people. she is getting along with all the other dogs good as well. Should i take her out? i just use them on cows too. Thanks!

Lacys can be hard nutts to crack but when u do they are vary loyal.  Personally I would want her warmed up to u as much as possible b4 taking her. Just my 2cents and all that depends on how much time spent with her and the quality of time spent .

sweet. thank you a bunch. i let her lay on the couch with me in the barn alley and rub on her and pet on her as much as i can. she used to have to drag a chain so i could snag her but she graduated from it. shes coming to me now so were making progress i guess. i tried her the first day i got her(sat) and she didnt hardly do anything. so i think im going to wait another week or so. im hoping she gets a hold of a steer this time.

Ur doing it right.  Our lacy is now a dang house dog half of the time she was 2.5 when we got her and now she is part of the family a year later like we have had her her whole life.  I like lacys a lot don't but for the most part I have had good luck with them
