Lucas, his brother Toby, Jason and I made a quick run after work run Friday night despite the 25mph winds. Hit a small cattle lease Toby has west of Springtown. Dogs struck out of a huge wallow by a tank and bayed 140 yards out. Bay broke and dogs split up everywhere. Leo picked him up and showed treed 995 yards out and Sam was headed to him at 650. We picked up Butch and June and headed that way. Walked in 45 yards cut Bubba and Debo loose. Bulldogs hit nicely and locked this fat hog down quick. Got him under control and thank God for my little daughter Kate as she was the only one who brought hobbles to the bay! Took him to the taxidermist/processor the next morning. I'm gonna shoulder mount him and Luke is gonna European mount him. He had a 40" neck and 4" matching cutters, although he broke one off in the trailer. So here's our best guess on the weight - the scales only went to 300lbs. We gutted him and weighed him and he still pegged out the scales. By looking at how far past he was 300, we figured 350lbs field dressed. The guts weighed 75 lbs minus the weight of the muck bucket they were in. We're thinking he was right around 420. Dogs on the hunt were Leo, Sam, June, Butch, Bubba and Debo. Kids on the hunt were Kate (kindergarden), Kaycee(2nd grade), Raynee(5th grade), Dalton(2nd grade) and Levi(Pre-K). This hog is a personal best for us - it was a great night out with the kids. In the trailer. Hobbled. My daughter Kate, she is 6 and is a trooper. She hunted with us Friday night from 8:30 to 1am and last night in Jacksboro from 8pm till 5am this morning. She loves it. Lucas, Dalton and Hayden with hog. Lucas is about 6'2" and 320 lbs just to give you an idea of his size.

Helluva a barr hog!!! I think he may be heavier than what you're thinking, judging from the pics. We caught one that gutted out at 385# and yours looks bigger than that!
