"Master Of Hounds" is my pick. A close friend and hunting partner has been shoeing him this season.

Here is my opinion on the whole field...

Animal Kingdom - Nice race record, but very limited in his experience. With only 4 races under his belt, I have to question his ability to handle pressure.

Archarcharch - He isn't consistent at all on his race record, and has already ran 4 races this year, I have to wonder if he is going to be prepped and rested enough. He does seem to like longer distances though.

Brilliant Speed - I just dunno bout this colt. His race record sure isn't anything to glance at twice, but he is consistent.

Comma To The Top - Again with the all over the place with the race record...

Decisive Moment - Why is he even in this race? He hasn't shown anything on short or long distances.

Dialed In - I think this is possibly the horse to watch, but he won't show anything till the close.

Master Of Hounds - Like everyone else, I am just wondering if this will be able to make the change from turf to dirt.

Midnight Interlude - I think this will prolly be my horse. He has shown that he likes the distance, and comes back strong after rests, and Bob Baffert has shown again and again that he knows how to pick them.

Mucho Macho Man - Yet again with the all over the race record... Nothing about this colt impresses me.

Nehro - If he places, it will be as the show horse. He rallies, but seems to always do it to late.

Pants On Fire - This seems to be a nice horse, but has trouble staying focused on his job.

Santiva - With only 1 win in 6 races, I don't see anything extravagant.

Shackleford - Just doesn't have it. With only 1 win on the distance, he just doesn't have it.

Soldat - Stronger contender, but very accident and rough trip proned.

Stay Thirsty - is gonna stay that way. Colt has no heart, and has consistently shown that he doesn't want it.

Twice The Appeal - Wow, what a long record... with 10 races, he is definately the most experianced, but have only once race under new trainer, wonder what they will pull off.

Twinspired - 2 wins, in 8 races, only one on distance. Nuff said

Uncle Mo - Impressive record, but wonder if he can handle the distance. Both distances he seemed to falter at the end. Could be over taken easily by the right horse.

Watch Me Go - No go. Always shows strong, and then dies out quickly.

Toby's Corner was scratched on May 3rd due to injury.

It has not been stated if Derby Kitten will race, but if he does, no go. He hates the dirt.

It's derby day guys, get your hats out. Lets Race

Tiny,

I take my hat off to you... Smiley

Siverton,

I'm going to read up on him.

I am a fair weather racing fan. I live the big three races, especially when we have a potential triple crown winner in the Belmont... Smiley

It's kinda like watching the super bowl three times. Cheesy Smiley

Rueban, sorry if I got carried away... I don't even bother with the SuperBowl, but the Triple Crown... I live and breath it.

Guys, after a closer consideration.... (I'm dead serious)

I am gonna put it like this

Dialed In - Win
Soldat - Place
Uncle Mo - Show

If there is an upset, it will be between Midnight Interlude, or Uncle Mo.

Here is my reasoning. Uncle Mo has the ability to go the distance, but I just don't think he'll make it. He has faded hard at a mile and 1/16, do you really think he can handle a mile and 1/4? Midnight Interlude is well rested, and has done good over distances time and again, but has never went passed a mile and 1/8.

If there is an upset it will be like this

Midnight Interlude - Win
Uncle Mo - Place
Dialed In - Show

Bud I ain't no professional. My mom and I just bet house cleaning jobs on the race every year. So far the only year either of us have ever won was the Charasmatic took it, and she won that one. I thought she was insane putting chores on that horse...

Heard today that Uncle Mo has been scratched.

Do y'all think this will affect the field?

I think it's his scratch will definately help some of the other speed in this race such as Soldat and Dialed In.

Ok, since nothing about him impresses you, my pick is Mucho Macho Man Tiny!  Grin he's gonna win it.  Wink
