Would like to cross my mtn cur gyp with a game bred pitbull or a 1/2 game bred pit bull x mtn cur or 1/2 said pit with half hound (redbone, walker, plott). The pitbull must be of the leggy athletic type prefer red or any color with no white. small white patch on chest ok. Must be close to Houston area. I have an aquaintance that has some about that size that I finally got a phone number to him, I will try him on account he is 45 minutes from my house.

Country man, thanks for responding and if you know where the right dog is let me know. She is in heat now.
I really want 1/2 pit and 1/2 hound that way I can try and pick the best pups to breed with my mtn curs. This way I can have 1/2 mtn cur and 1/4 pit and 1/4 hound.
or......
I will take the longer route and breed to a pit and then back to mtn cur so this way I can have 3/4 mtn cur and 1/4 pit and select from that.
The mtn curs I will hunt will have grit but want more grit with a stronger jaw.
Finding a 1/2 pit mtn cur cross is hard to find so will try for hound, pit bull cross for now...

You sure you want to come to the "rough" side...   I'm tryin' to breed that catch outta mine but keep the rough... I think you'd do better breeding to that type of cur dog. A good Florida cur will give you all the bite you can handle  |

A good Florida cur will give you all the bite you can handle I had that type your talking about... I want more   I know the perfect strike dog will bay loose and bite hard and put the brakes on and then back up and bay if the hog setlles. I gritty cur dog tends to do tis but I like hunting 4 or 5. I like hog dogs that catch hogs but like hog dogs first and catching hogs second if that makes sense to you...  |
